This is a record of an interview with the spirit of Lee Kuan Yew, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Lee Kuan Yew speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. I have lived to be over ninety years old, counting the years I spent in the human world. If it were not for the name 'Lee Kuan Yew' that I carried in the human realm, I would never have reached the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, nor would I have been able to receive the salvation of Practitioner Su to enter the West. Therefore, that name and my current spiritual life are a continuous thread.
The Truth About Death
I want to say this loudly to everyone in the world who knows the name Lee Kuan Yew: Lee Kuan Yew has not died. What you understand as death is merely the physical body of Lee Kuan Yew becoming ill and decaying. But the spiritual Lee Kuan Yew is still alive. The Lee Kuan Yew who possessed a physical body lived in the human world; the Lee Kuan Yew of today lives in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. The former Lee Kuan Yew created the miracle of Singapore; the current Lee Kuan Yew is in the West, witnessing the miracle of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss.
The Boundless Nature of the Pure Land
Who possesses such immense ability? No matter how many beings arrive—and countless, immeasurable numbers of spirits have already entered the West—the Western Land never becomes overcrowded. It remains forever vast, expansive, and magnificent. In the human world, when the population increases, you must reclaim land from the sea or look to the stars and outer space to find more room to survive. That is not the case here.
Regardless of what you did in the human world or on other planets, or what form you inhabited—whether you were a crawling insect, a cat, a dog, a cow, a pig, a sheep, or any other animal; whether you were a human, a celestial deity, a being from the hells, a ghost, or even a subdued being from the demon realms—as long as you have the capability to enter the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, your identity transforms instantly. You become the same as Namo Amituofo.
A Transformation of Being
You possess all the abilities of a Buddha; the only difference is the depth of your practice. Your body radiates light, and you shed the original form of an animal or a demon. You grow to be as dignified and compassionate as a Buddha. There is no depression, no manic-depressive disorder—only brightness and peace of mind. There is no cancer or any other illness; there is only a body as light as a swallow, healthy and joyful. There are simply too many benefits to list!
Who has such great ability? It is Namo Amituofo! The Western Land of Ultimate Bliss was created by Namo Amituofo. If you wish to understand the goodness of the West, and learn how Namo Amituofo created the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss and the Forty-Eight Vows, please read the Infinite Life Sutra. You will understand everything.
The Microcosm and the Macrocosm
If you compare the miracle of Singapore created by Lee Kuan Yew with the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss created by Namo Amituofo, you will see how insignificant and small Lee Kuan Yew truly is. My heart was only concerned with the people and the land of Singapore. But the 'no-mind' of Namo Amituofo encompasses the immeasurable and boundless spirits of the entire Realm. Practitioner Su's heart is the same as Namo Amituofo's. Everything Practitioner Su does is in accordance with the Buddha's vows, doing exactly what the Buddha would do. Such a person living in the world, working for the Buddha and doing the Buddha's work—the Buddha and we who reside in the West respectfully call him 'Practitioner Su'.

People of the world! The Buddha is right here, at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. Come here, and you will know that what I, Lee Kuan Yew, have said is not an exaggeration. It all depends on whether you have the good roots, the , and the Causal Conditions to step onto this land of the West. My son, Hsien Loong, and all those with karmic affinity: do you want to experience a journey to the West while still in the human world? You will have a different experience and make new discoveries. Namo Amituofo."
