My Buddha, your is boundless. I humbly request your teachings, that you may let the sweet rain of the fall, helping all beings leave suffering behind. Namo Amituofo.

The True Reality of the Heart

The true reality of all phenomena is that they are the same in essence. Yet, why do we think and act as we do? The results differ because of the state of our hearts. When you peel back the layers of your thoughts, like unwinding a silk cocoon, you will finally understand that the answer lies within the heart. No-Mind is truly precious, whereas having a mind—filled with attachments—makes it difficult to reach the truth. No-Mind acts naturally, never departing from the True Teachings.

When you have a mind, you are filled with concerns and worries, making it difficult to reveal your true heart. No-Mind is free of thoughts, while having a mind is filled with delusions and mixed intentions. Having a mind is like carrying a heavy, bent burden; the more you carry, the heavier it becomes. No-Mind is pure and clean, making your body and heart clear and transparent. Having a mind is like being trapped in one place, while No-Mind is omnipresent. Having a mind is stained and murky, while No-Mind is crystal clear.

Transcending the Cycle of Reincarnation

Having a mind is full of the seven emotions and the . No-Mind is everywhere, unbound by these limitations. When you have a mind, you believe you possess things, but when conditions fade, everything vanishes. No-Mind possesses nothing, so how can there be a concept of having or not having? Between having and not having, everything depends on the heart. Originally, all is empty; anything else is merely an external addition.

You may act for one lifetime, but where will you be in the next? This heart that you cling to is also an illusion. If you take hold of your thoughts, you will only find delusions and afflictions. If you have No-Mind and take nothing, you actually possess everything. The six realms of existence and the four holy states are all products of having a mind; they differ only in their levels of purity and impurity.

The Path to Becoming an Awakened Being

To attain the state of an awakened being is to see the truth. When you see the original reality, you naturally see the Buddha. To be the Buddha in this very body is to practise the path of non-action. If you remain in this body with attachments, you are still reincarnated. You must remove the layers of accumulated dust, peeling away the cocoon of your ego. Once you let go, you will gain everything and see the true reality of all things.

The true reality of all phenomena is pure and empty. If you try to grasp it, you will fall into confusion. The human body is precious, but it passes in the blink of an eye. You must cherish the present moment and do what is truly important. Teaching the Dharma to others is the duty of all students of Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre. You must do this at all times and in all places.

A Call to Diligent Practice

You must act for the sake of all beings, and in doing so, you act for yourself. The beings and are one, and in this, you attain oneness. This is the Buddha-land, where Buddha-heart and Buddha-actions reside. All the Buddhas walk with you, and Practitioner Su is by your side. You are all blessed, and you must realise the greatness of the Pure Land Dharma. In this state of absolute purity, if even a single drop of ink falls, the whole becomes stained and impure. You must understand this principle clearly.

See through your attachments, let go of your discriminations, and your delusions will be extinguished. In that moment, you will attain true coolness and peace. Every word spoken by the Buddha is the truth, and the words of Practitioner Su are the same. You must cherish every single word. If you can let these teachings enter your heart, they will wash away your stained heart. The day of attaining the state of an awakened being is close at hand.

Recorded by the Buddha's disciple, Venerable HaiZe.
