The Unfolding Tapestry of Causal Conditions

On the sixth of August, 2019, we reflect upon the nature of our existence. In every moment, every passing second, and every fleeting instant, there are countless Causal Conditions flowing and intersecting throughout the universe. Within the vast expanse of the void, there are infinite sentient beings waiting for the opportunity to be saved through Chao Du. Many of these spirits, much like the members of our own community, have become accustomed to the rhythm of the Dharma assembly. They are used to being saved, and they are used to waiting. However, they often fail to realise that the wheel of Causal Conditions turns with incredible speed and can shift at any moment.

The Call to Spiritual Readiness

Venerable KaiLin wishes to remind all sentient beings and the fourfold assembly that you must always keep yourself prepared. To be prepared is to possess the firm grasp required to face all circumstances and to navigate the inevitable shifts in Causal Conditions. Through each change, you must strive for continuous growth and independence. You should no longer remain a child who requires the constant care of adults, nor should you rely solely on the assistance of others. Instead, you must learn to walk this path on your own. Even when you encounter setbacks, you must have the inner strength to rise again. By doing so, you will become a mature individual upon whom others can rely.

Awakening to Maturity and Responsibility

Perhaps this level of maturity cannot be reached overnight, but as long as you hold this goal and direction in your heart, you will be able to move forward step by step. Venerable KaiLin understands that this is a reminder and a test given by the Buddha to the fourfold assembly. Look around you—do you see how many people are still trapped in the cycle of rebirth within this dusty, red-dust world? If we were to rely solely on Practitioner Su to carry the burden, how many beings could truly be saved? Is it not the duty of the fourfold assembly to shoulder some of this responsibility?

A Unified Vow to Save the World

Here, all members of the fourfold assembly and the monastics are one. We are all one with the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. Every single person should harbour the thought and the vow to save the world. Only then can Practitioner Su have the space to fully manifest her work without any worries, allowing the Dharma of Namo Amituofo to be spread even further. This ensures that more people and more sentient beings can hear this precious, hard-won Dharma. It is time for the spiritual children within us to grow up and become adults who no longer cause others to worry. We must go forth to help other spiritual children grow, change, and join us in the mission to save the world. Together, let us propagate the holy name of Namo Amituofo, bathing in the vastness of the Buddha’s teachings. From this moment on, let us be reborn, purifying our body, mind, and spirit. Let this clear stream of Dharma flow long and deep, washing away the impurities of the heart, transforming this place into a pure land for the world, and purifying the hearts of all people. Namo Amituofo.
