The Testimony of Venerable Wu Fan: Namo Amituofo Abides at Hsiang Kuang
An Interview with the Attendant of Venerable Master Chin Kung
Recorded by Venerable HaiZe on 20 December 2025
Gratitude from the
I am Wu Fan. I wish to express my deepest gratitude to Practitioner Su, who saved my spirit from the agony of illness and death years ago. It was through her that I was led to repent before the Buddha and subsequently enter the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This event brought great comfort and profound shock to my teacher, Venerable Master Chin Kung, and my fellow practitioners. However, it also invited much humiliation, questioning, and slander against Practitioner Su. Fortunately, Practitioner Su remained steadfast, continuing her diligent practice with great caution and unwavering focus. It is because of this perseverance that we have the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre today, where Namo Amituofo truly abides.
I am Wu Fan (Master Fan), which is the name I used while practising in the human world. In the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, all activities are natural and intuitive. We communicate heart-to-heart; there is no need for spoken language or the use of names.
The Natural Beauty of the Western Pure Land
In this world where all wishes are fulfilled, one does not need to ask for anything. One does not even need to form a thought. Whatever is needed appears before one, even before the thought arises. This magnificent world was established by the Greatly Compassionate . It is a realm that is free from all suffering and filled only with happiness. At this very moment, Namo Amituofo is residing at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Goombungee, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia.
This is a tremendous blessing for Australia and for the entire human world. We should proclaim this news to all corners of the earth. Those who truly believe in and understand Namo Amituofo should come to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre with a heart of deep reverence to prostrate, pay homage, seek teachings, and request the Dharma. Even if one were to prostrate every three steps, it would not be an excessive display of devotion.
A Rare Opportunity for the Human World
This reminds me of the story of the great Elder Master Xu Yun, who prostrated every three steps on his pilgrimage to Mount Wutai to pay homage to Manjushri . During his journey, he fell ill twice and was saved by a person named Wenji, only to later discover that Wenji was the manifestation of Manjushri Bodhisattva himself. This is a story of sincere seeking and the profound connection between practitioners and the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, a story that my teacher, Venerable Master Chin Kung, often shared during his lectures.
Over these years, I have witnessed the achievements of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre from the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Such accomplishments are beyond what an ordinary temple could sustain. In particular, to save and transform demons, one must endure their magical attacks. After the demons are subdued, the temple invites them to the ceremony, strikes the bell, and sends them to the Western Land of Dharma Nature. This commitment to saving every single being, one by one, is a true act of selfless and practice that deeply moves me.
The Selfless Work of Saving Beings
Practitioner Su’s attainment of and her vow to follow Namo Amituofo in saving all boundless suffering sentient beings represent a great fortune for all beings and a precious opportunity to leave suffering behind. Consider the recent fire at Wang Fuk Court in Hong Kong:
- When Practitioner Su’s vow was activated, Namo Amituofo was able to lead the countless victims of the fire and the beings of the spirit realm into the Western Land of Dharma Nature.
- We in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss see these processes with absolute clarity.
- The temple is currently compiling an introduction to the presence of Namo Amituofo at Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, which includes interviews with the deceased from the Hong Kong fire.
These efforts demonstrate the immense compassion of Practitioner Su in saving beings and the significant time and energy she invests in cultivating practitioners to carry on the Buddha’s teachings. This is clearly reflected in her practice of making every day count as two.
A Call to Recognize the True Path
It is a great loss that many in the human world still harbour doubts and disbelief toward a practitioner who walks the Buddha’s path with such care. By doing so, they lose the opportunity to draw near to their compassionate father, Namo Amituofo, and fail to receive the teachings that could lead them to Awakening. The events that have unfolded at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre over the past few years have all been for the sake of resolving the suffering of beings. Under the presence of Namo Amituofo and the great vows of Practitioner Su, significant changes have been brought to the spirit and demon realms, guiding them toward liberation.
I, Wu Fan, sincerely hope that the Pure Land societies and academies will re-evaluate Practitioner Su. She is a true practitioner of the Pure Land path in the human world.
