A Discourse by Venerable KaiLin

Every journey we undertake brings a unique atmosphere and a distinct magnetic field. Every change we encounter leads to a different transformation. The curriculum established by Namo Amituofo is not merely for the fourfold assembly of disciples; it encompasses all beings in the void who join us in every step of the process. When we engage in these activities—listening to sutras and hearing the , performing prostrations, and reciting the Sutras—alongside our time for diligent practice, we immerse ourselves in a field of purification that is truly profound.
The Collective Power of Diligent Practice
The strength of our collective practice drives everyone forward. If this momentum can be sustained, it will surely bring about a new and radiant appearance for all. When I, KaiLin, first learned from Practitioner Su, the instruction was simple yet demanding. I was taught to perform prostrations without a wandering mind—to keep prostrating, and prostrating again. I continued until I completely forgot about my physical body. Once the attachment to was set aside, it naturally became light and agile. The sentient beings residing within my body were constantly bathed in the Buddha-light, which allowed them to depart and find liberation.
Transcending the Physical Body
All the sensations you experience during practice—the pain, the numbness, the soreness, the tightness, and the exhaustion—are tests and obstacles presented by the beings who share your karmic history. If you remain attached to the needs and comforts of your physical body, these beings will only hold on more tightly. This attachment creates a barrier that prevents you from performing prostrations, reciting the Sutras, or taking even a single step forward on the path of . This happens simply because there is no true repentance or sincere desire in the heart to change. The and spirits residing in the void and within your own body possess a five-fold perception; they can see every detail of your inner heart with absolute clarity. Any lack of sincerity or any attempt to deceive oneself is merely a hollow comfort. Only by acting with truth, changing with truth, and transforming with truth can you find a place of genuine, lasting peace.
The Clarity of the Heart
Even after you leave the group setting, you must be able to persist in this arrangement and effort. This persistence indicates that the foundation of your practice has gradually become stable. Practice is a very pure and solitary path. It requires one to practise and work diligently on one's own. You must clearly understand this point if you wish to achieve success and make further progress on your spiritual journey.
The Magnifying Power of the
The eyes of heaven and humanity are watching everything that happens at Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. Goodness and evil are separated by a single thought. In this environment, every thought is magnified infinitely. Even the slightest deviation can lead one into the hells to suffer the consequences. What we practise here is the ultimate Goodness and the ultimate purity; it cannot tolerate even the slightest speck of dust or impurity. Only by maintaining this standard can one be certain of achieving rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. The most subtle of details are hidden within the minutiae of daily life, and this is precisely where the essence of practice lies. You must listen to the Sutras and hear the Dharma with great care. Only then can you uncover the demons in the details, obtain the supreme treasures of wisdom, achieve magnificent Dharma-practice, and walk freely toward the Western Pure Land.
