The Ancient Demon's Confession: 1,020 Trillion Years of Darkness
An Interview with the Primordial Demon Mo Genghe
Recorded by Venerable HaiZe on October 7, 2024
This is a record of an interview with the primordial demon Mo Genghe, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. Mo Genghe, a being from the demon realms with a history spanning approximately 1,020 trillion years, reflects upon his long cycle of existence and his eventual transformation. This account was recorded by the chief writer, Venerable HaiZe, on October 7, 2024.
Mo Genghe speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. I am Mo Genghe. To the people of Earth, a span of 1,020 trillion years is an unimaginably long time—an eternity. Yet, in the vast expanse of the Realm, it is merely a fleeting moment, a tiny speck of dust visible only when caught in a beam of sunlight. For so long, I existed in the shadows, forgotten even by myself. I had lost my name, my sense of time, and almost my very sense of being.
It is only now, because I have been illuminated by the Buddha-light, that I am seen. It is only through this light that my name has been called once more. Without this grace, I would have remained lost in the void of my own darkness."
The Mechanics of the Attack
"You may wonder how I managed to deploy 910 Earths' worth of demon crowds to attack Practitioner Su, and another 10 Earths' worth to attack the fourfold assembly. It was achieved through my split spirits. My true self remained unmoved, while these manifestations carried out the tasks. I could perceive everything my split spirits were doing without it affecting my core . This is the survival strategy of an ancient demon who possesses such skills. However, I did not truly believe that Namo Amituofo had manifested in this world until my true self was finally subdued by the Twelve Lights.
These split spirits are a form of illusion—a technique only high-level beings in the demon realm can master. Once the true self is subdued, these illusions and split spirits naturally dissolve into nothingness."
The Power of the Twelve Lights
"Even an ancient demon of a trillion years could not escape the power of the Twelve Lights. It was then that I truly believed in the arrival of Namo Amituofo and the absolute authority of that radiance. Why is the power of the Twelve Lights so immense? It is because this is the true Buddha-light, containing the and gentleness of the Buddha, yet possessing an unstoppable, absolute force. This is precisely why Namo Amituofo was able to construct the realm of Infinite Life and Infinite Light—the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
For an ancient demon of my age, the holy name of Namo Amituofo, the King of the Dharma Realm, has been heard in whispers throughout the eons. To hear it again now fills my heart with profound gratitude. As long as one hears the holy name of Namo Amituofo, there is a chance to be saved and reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. I have long known of this Ultimate Vow. Long, long ago, Namo Amituofo visited a planet in the Dharma Realm and transformed it into a world of light. But after the hearts of the people changed and the Buddha departed, that world fell into darkness, becoming a demon planet. It was then that I fell from a being of light into the dark spirit I have been until this very day. I never expected to wait so long, only to find Namo Amituofo appearing in this manner to rescue the descendants of that original world—many of whom had been lost to me for so long!"
A Debt of Gratitude and a Warning
"The Buddha has now rescued my dark soul, which had been lost for a trillion years. I believe that Namo Amituofo will also save the other citizens of that original light-filled planet. Back then, every one of us chanted 'Namo Amituofo,' and we were all aware of the Buddha's Ultimate Vow because we believed in it and practised it. We fell only because we had not yet realised our true nature. Now that we have been lifted up by the Buddha again, I am filled with gratitude for His compassion.
I also offer my deepest apologies to Practitioner Su for the ignorance of my split spirits in committing the evil acts of attacking her and the fourfold assembly. I urge the fourfold assembly to understand how rare and precious it is to encounter Namo Amituofo! The last time I encountered the Buddha was 1,020 trillion years ago. If you do not seize this opportunity to encounter the Buddha and become a Buddha, I have already seen that some of you will fall into the demon realms. Do you really wish to follow in the footsteps of Mo Genghe and wait another trillion years before you are saved?"
The of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre
"The fourfold assembly is incredibly blessed. Because Practitioner Su is here, this Buddha will not let you suffer for too long, as you are also the ones she is dedicated to saving. Furthermore, there is another Buddha of the West, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju. With three Buddhas present at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, it is no wonder that countless demons are subdued and that so many old and ancient demons have voluntarily surrendered. There is a reason for this.
As an ancient demon of 1,020 trillion years, I advise all demons who are still using their magic: stop immediately! This act of great disrespect is something Practitioner Su does not hold against you, for the Buddha is truly that compassionate. However, the laws of and cause and effect are heavy, and the suffering is extreme! Once the cause is planted, the karmic fruit will not simply vanish. Even so, since the exists, you should enter it quickly. Do not continue to use your magic; it is Practitioner Su's physical body that suffers the harm. She does not blame you, yet she still leads you into the Western Dharma-Nature Land—this is truly extraordinary!
I, Mo Genghe, am filled with shame, but also with infinite gratitude.
Namo Amituofo."
