The Deep-Sea Lair of Six Billion Years

This is a record of an interview with the demon known as Mo Shenshen, who was later given the Dharma name Shi Yunguang by Practitioner Su. He sought Chao Du at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia after being subdued by the Buddha-light. This account reflects upon his existence spanning six billion years. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Fajing, on October 25, 2023.

Mo Shenshen (Shi Yunguang) speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I have always hidden myself in the deepest, most unreachable trenches of the Earth's oceans. There, I constructed my lair—a massive, sprawling structure that functions much like an underwater palace of darkness. It is a place of immense scale, hidden away from the eyes of the world.

A Fortress of Solitude and Suffering

The space beneath the ocean floor is vast, and within my domain, no other spirits exist. Only my own 'demon children and grandchildren' have the capability to enter this space. Other spirits, even those from different realms of the Demon Realm, are strictly forbidden. This is where my true power lies: I have the ability to isolate my space entirely, creating a barrier that prevents any outside interference. However, if I grant permission, a spirit may enter. To this day, everyone I have allowed inside has been a spirit captured and controlled by my demon children and grandchildren. The moment they capture a spirit, they report to me immediately. I then open the 'password' to my space, allowing them to bring these captives into our underwater realm, where they are dragged into the lair and locked away in the dungeons we have constructed.

You could never imagine the sheer size of the dungeons I have built. They are so vast that they appear to have no end. This is the manifestation of my ambition—to capture as many spirits as possible, drag them into these depths, and subject them to endless torment. Those who can withstand the agony are given the chance to become my demon children and grandchildren; those who cannot must remain in the dungeons forever, with no hope of escape.

The Cycle of Despair

Think about it—who would ever want to be locked away in a dark, cold, and torturous dungeon for eternity? Because of this, everyone struggles desperately to earn the chance to become my demon children and grandchildren. No matter what I demand of them, or what tasks I assign, they obey me without question. They do it all just to escape that place of incomparable suffering.

To date, I have imprisoned several billion spirits within my dungeons. It is a staggering number, truly. Most of these billions have already become my demon children and grandchildren. Only a few remain who refuse to yield—those with stubborn, hardened personalities who insist on holding out. They refuse to surrender to me. That is perfectly fine; I have all the time in the world. The stronger and more stubborn their personalities, the more I enjoy it, for it signifies that their 'demon nature' is potent and will be of great use in the future. I am more than happy to wait for these spirits to suffer in the dungeons, day after day, enduring the magic I inflict upon them. The moment they can no longer bear the pain, they will naturally surrender to me. I have no fear of them escaping.

A Demon Among Demons

I once invited other Demon Kings to visit my lair. When they entered and witnessed the scale of the construction and the terrifying atmosphere I had created—a place truly fit for a demon—they were filled with awe. One Demon King remarked, 'I have been a demon for so long, yet I have never seen a lair as formidable as yours.' When they saw the dungeons and the spirits trapped within, they were so shocked they could hardly speak. This was something they had never attempted; they had never thought to build a dungeon to imprison spirits. One Demon King whispered to me, 'Why do you capture these spirits?' I replied, 'One day, they will all become my demon children and grandchildren.' That Demon King immediately looked at me with admiration and praised my power.

I have been a demon for nearly six billion years. Throughout these six billion years, I have been constantly on the move, hiding, ensuring that the True Teachings would never have the opportunity to sanction me. The methods I employ are highly sophisticated. Not every demon can do what I do; it requires a demon with immense power to achieve such a feat. Throughout the universe, there are many places where I can hide. The moment I sense even the slightest anomaly, I retreat into the energy fields I have created. This energy is incredibly potent—a powerful 'negative energy' that, from the outside, appears as a massive black vortex.

The Black Vortex Technique

The speed at which this vortex rotates is terrifying. It looks so horrific that no other spirit would dare approach it. I hide in the deepest core of this black vortex, protected by this immense energy, ensuring that no power can ever locate me. And there is not just one such vortex; I have successfully created nearly ten million of them across various locations in the universe. With a single mental note, I can instantly enter any one of these vortexes, and with another, I can shift to another in the blink of an eye. The speed is absolute; no force can capture me.

I am extremely satisfied with these methods. I am confident that even if another sixty billion, or even hundreds of billions of years pass, I will never be caught. I have absolute confidence. Many of the demons who entered the Demon Realm at the same time as I did have already been sanctioned by the True Teachings. I do not know where they were taken, but seeing how easily they were captured, I find it quite pathetic. I could not help them; I could only save myself. Protecting oneself is the most important thing.

The Selfishness of Humanity

Approximately three thousand years ago, we arrived on Earth. The first thing that caught our attention was this deep-sea space. Not every planet has oceans, and the oceans on Earth are unique; they contain a specific energy. This is something humans may not necessarily know, but we are very clear about it.

Do you know if that energy is positive or negative? The answer is that it changes according to the human heart. If the human heart is positive, the energy is positive; if the human heart is negative, the energy is negative.

Three thousand years ago, when I first entered the deep-sea space and sensed this energy, it had already begun to change. It was already being influenced by the hearts of humanity. The energy had begun to shift from a state of balance between positive and negative, leaning toward stronger negative energy and weaker positive energy. I observed this transformation constantly, while also observing the human heart. I wanted to know what was happening—how could human hearts cause such a significant change in the energy of the deep sea?

I was filled with intense curiosity; I found it fascinating. After meticulous observation, I discovered that the most powerful negative energy in the human heart is 'selfishness.' This selfishness is truly remarkable. It can completely transform a person's heart and exert a total influence over their physical body. That is how powerful this selfishness is.

The Destruction of the World

When a person is selfish, their thinking begins to be interfered with. Everything they think and contemplate is tainted by subtle self-interest. Consequently, their actions naturally contain elements of selfishness. Perhaps they perform more actions to protect themselves, or they become calculating in their work, fearing they might 'suffer a loss,' or they commit acts that harm others to maintain their own existence. The selfish mental notes of a human being have a massive impact. When such selfishness appears in a human, their body begins to develop 'holes' that can be easily invaded and exploited by external forces. Usually, once the body is taken over, their selfishness becomes even more pronounced, and their actions are driven entirely by the ego.

It is not just a few humans on Earth who are selfish; the vast majority are. It is this very mental state that constantly influences the energy of the ocean floor, rapidly converting the original balanced energy into negative energy. I have been observing this energy constantly. It does not just turn into negative energy; as human negative entities grow stronger, this negative energy grows larger. Do not underestimate the existence of this negative energy. When it reaches a limit—like a balloon that cannot be inflated any further—it is simply waiting to burst. The moment this negative energy explodes, it will consume the entire Earth, like a retaliatory force that destroys the planet. Humans cannot blame this negative energy for destroying the Earth, because it was the human heart that nurtured this energy. Humans have harmed themselves; they have created their own sins, and in the end, they will all suffer the karmic retribution together.

The Power of Practitioner Su

In the deep sea, I have been able to secretly use this negative energy to enhance our demon power. Humans are truly foolish; they think their selfishness protects them, not knowing that their selfishness is feeding a group of demons and expanding a negative energy that is about to destroy them.

If humans knew this and began to learn to let go of their selfishness, learned to expand their mind-capacity, and understood selflessness and no-self, then this energy would slowly shift from negative back to a balance of positive and negative, and finally return to positive energy. However, as we see it now, it is fundamentally impossible for humans to change their selfishness, because human selfishness is becoming increasingly severe. In this current generation, even young children have selfish thoughts. Adults are negligent in their education—or rather, the adults are just as selfish themselves, so of course, they cannot see the selfishness in their own children, making it even more impossible to teach their children how to be selfless.

We were very happy to see these changes on Earth, as it helped increase our demon power. We were content to let the natural forces eventually destroy the Earth completely. However, there is now a Practitioner Su in this world. Wherever the Dharma Body of Practitioner Su goes, he brings a powerful positive energy. If Practitioner Su is allowed to continue his influence, the negative energy of the Earth will be constantly weakened. If that happens, the Earth will certainly have a chance to be saved, and my deep-sea demon lair might be destroyed.

We were unwilling to see this happen, so we united the power of various demons to attack Practitioner Su. No matter how great his skills were, we were determined to finish him off in one go. We thought it would be an easy task; we never expected that the moment we exerted even a small amount of our demon power against Practitioner Su, he would immediately detect it. In an instant, he subdued all of our boundless demon crowds.

Reflections on the Thrice Yearning Ceremonies

After I was subdued by Practitioner Su, my deep-sea demon lair completely collapsed. The moment the lair disintegrated, a massive transformation occurred in the deep-sea space. The power of darkness was cleared away by the power of the True Teachings. Many spirits who had been in darkness for years suddenly saw the Buddha-light and quickly followed it to depart.

This was my first time witnessing the true ability of Practitioner Su; it is truly well-deserved. For six billion years, I had been hiding everywhere, using ten million black vortexes to protect myself; I never imagined that I would ultimately be subdued by the power of the Buddha.

If you ask me if I am reconciled to this, I must admit that at first, I was not. After all, I am an old demon; to be dealt with so easily—where was I to put my face? But when I saw Practitioner Su using his Dharma Body to perform Chao Du for beings in various spaces, rescuing so many from all kinds of realms, I had to admire him. Now, I have no reason to be unreconciled. My ability is indeed far inferior to that of Practitioner Su. I am willing to accept this, and I have knelt before Practitioner Su to beg him to teach me his skills, so that I, too, may exert my power to save beings.
