The Anatomy of Human Manipulation
An Interview with the Demon Mo Nong Shi
Recorded by the Chief Writer, Shi Faxin
This is a record of an interview with Mo Nong Shi (Shi Yuanzhen), a demon who has been interfering with Practitioner Su. He speaks from the perspective of a being who has existed for approximately 8,900 years. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxin, on February 6, 2024.
Mo Nong Shi speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. I am Mo Nong Shi. Many people are fascinated by their dreams. But tell me, are these dreams real or are they illusions? No one truly knows. Let me enlighten you: dreams are both real and false.
They are 'real' in the sense that the desires you experience within the dream truly exist within you. It is precisely because of these cravings that the dream is drawn into manifestation. They are 'false' because the dream itself is an illusion—a construct formed entirely by your own thoughts and intentions. This interplay of truth and falsehood is the very reality of the dream state.
The Voices Within
I am Mo Nong Shi, and I control humans. Within the human body, I often hear a cacophony of voices. Some are the result of unintentional thoughts, others are the genuine cries of the heart, and many more are the voices of 'I want' or 'I don't want'. People assume that once these thoughts are voiced, they simply vanish into the ether, never to return. They let these internal voices—big and small—rise and fall in a chaotic rhythm. That is the ignorant assumption of those who lack spiritual sensitivity.
To us, the demon crowds, every single sound within a human body is crystal clear. We understand humans far better than they understand themselves. We know which heart-cries are genuine desires and which are merely fleeting impulses. As demons, we control by becoming one with it. To us, the voices inside are deafening, for we exist right there within the human form.
The Complexity of Desire
There is one situation where we find the human body truly laughable. A person sees an object and desires it—their intention is clear, they truly love it. Yet, the head begins a frantic analysis. 'First, the quality is mediocre. Second, I don't really need it. Third, the price is barely acceptable.' Just by looking at an object, a torrent of analysis begins, often spiralling into endless extensions. A person might spend five minutes thinking about a single object. Those five minutes may seem to pass in a blink, but the space contained within them is vast and complex—filled with analysis, comparison, competition, likes, dislikes, love, and indifference.
Every object that manifests has a different magnetic field and vibration. In the head, these appear as deep blacks, light greys, browns, greens, and reds—some bright, some dull. I describe this to show that a five-minute thought is a complex space, woven entirely by one's own choices. This five-minute window stuffs yet another space into the head. After all that analysis, the person decides they don't need it, and they pack away those thoughts, ending the contemplation. And that is just one example. Humans are incredibly fickle; they want something one moment and reject it the next, with these thoughts constantly swirling in their minds.
The Deep Spaces of the Soul
Within the space of the human body, there are depths and shallows. When we, the demon crowds, manipulate a human, we naturally choose to enter the deeper spaces, for the deeper the space, the more the person cherishes it. The more they cherish it, the more they enjoy our subtle manipulation—and we enjoy it right along with them. There is a natural reaction in human thought: the less one has, the more one wants it. We exploit this intention to keep the human heart in a constant state of agitation. As long as the heart is agitated, it naturally opens countless channels for us to enter."
For the Demon Realm, this was a monumental event. Many ancient demons remarked, 'We have been demons for tens of billions of years, and we have always been incredibly proud of ourselves. Who would have thought that we would encounter such a formidable opponent at this moment? This opponent has already subdued countless demon crowds, and it is said that he can even shatter the very fabric of space. Everything we hear about these achievements fills us with deep resentment. Even if our ultimate fate is to be subdued, we must put up a fierce fight before that happens.'
The Demon Sea Strategy
Demon crowds from every direction began to stir because of this. None of us were willing to admit defeat, and we were even less willing to believe that anyone could be stronger than us. Everyone was eager to test their strength. Since the Buddha-light could instantly shatter the demonic power we had set up, we decided to use a 'human sea' tactic—or rather, a 'demon sea' tactic. As soon as one batch was subdued, another would immediately take its place. Beyond that, we targeted the physical body of Practitioner Su. We thought to ourselves, 'As long as we interfere with Practitioner Su's physical body, he will be unable to concentrate due to the disturbance, causing his body to become unwell, and thus we can resist him.'
Throughout the entire space, anyone willing to join in the interference against Practitioner Su lined up. For our entire Demon Realm, this was a major affair. We believed that only by working together to take down Practitioner Su could we demon crowds continue to thrive.
The Power of Buddha-Light
What we call a 'human sea' tactic, we could call a 'demon sea' tactic—the goal was to conquer Practitioner Su. However, what we did not anticipate was that Practitioner Su brought with him the power of the Buddha. The power of the Buddha is supreme; there is no force that can break it. When the demon crowds touched the Buddha-light, their Buddha-nature naturally emerged. Just as I was leading the charge to break through Practitioner Su's defenses, the Buddha-light shone upon my entire being. In that instant, I felt a profound sense of coolness brought by the . My wide-staring eyes and tense muscles all softened. There is a saying in China: 'Lay down your cleaver and achieve Buddhahood right away.' At the time, I wondered, 'Is achieving Buddhahood really that easy and fast?' Now, having been illuminated by the Buddha-light and experiencing such a state myself, I finally understand that the Buddha is truly this compassionate. As long as sentient beings are willing to turn back, the Buddha will compassionately accept them.
After being guided by Practitioner Su's Buddha-light to the -Nature Land, everything before my eyes was a world of pure light. I saw many Bodhisattvas who were once Demon Kings; now, their faces and the magnetic fields they emitted were incredibly gentle. Everyone appeared reborn, a sight that moved me deeply. I am so grateful that the Buddha is willing to accept us, who once created so much .

A Shift in Perspective
After arriving at the Dharma-Nature Land, the way I see things is completely different from before. In the past, I led my 'demon children and grandchildren' in a constant search for areas we could control. All I saw were people's greed, anger, delusion, arrogance, and doubt, as well as their obsession with wealth, lust, fame, food, and sleep. I would seize upon people's weaknesses just to watch them make fools of themselves, and I wanted to prove that everyone possesses a demon nature—that it is precisely because of this demon nature that they lose their souls. My observations were not wrong, but they were extremely biased. Now that I have entered the Buddha-land, the Buddha-light has purified my entire being, and thus the space and the perspective from which I view things have changed.
I still see the world's greed, anger, delusion, arrogance, and doubt, and their obsession with wealth, lust, fame, food, and sleep, but from a different angle, I see that they are suffering and unable to let go. It is not that they do not want to let go; it is that no one has told them that they should, or how to do so. So, one after another, they are like people walking in circles, unable to find their way out. They use all sorts of methods to satisfy their bodies, thinking that if their bodies are satisfied, they will find happiness. In reality, it is quite the opposite. The more habits one has, the more spiritual attachments will cling to the body, and the more will manifest, leading them only into a dead end. Many people have taken the wrong path, but if they turn back now, it is not too late.
Seeing so many people unable to break free, and remembering how I used to 'kick them while they were down,' I feel a deep sense of repentance.
The Endless Suffering of Beings
Across time and space, Practitioner Su works tirelessly to help sentient beings. Throughout the boundless void, in many places, beings are wailing in agony. Among them, I saw spirits in volcanoes and geothermal regions; they are constantly burning in fire, and the sounds of their painful wailing never cease. I can feel their entire bodies being scorched by the heat. The time each spirit must endure retribution varies; some must suffer for five hundred years, others for thousands or tens of thousands of years. This single moment is already unbearable—how can they endure such a long period of retribution? Just as my heart could not bear it, the Buddha-light shone into this realm of suffering. I began to chant Namo Amituofo with all my might, hoping that the spirits in these suffering spaces would have a chance to escape. Before long, many spirits began to emerge from that fiery space. Watching these spirits escape, I continued to chant for them.
By the time the Buddha-name chanting for the concluded, countless spirits had escaped from that space. However, there were still some who could not. Their bodies had been burned to the point where they could no longer regain , and some spirits were still so stubborn that they were unwilling to leave. Seeing scene after scene of this, my heart felt heavy, yet I could not change it. Suddenly, I remembered that some of the people I used to control had temperaments just as stubborn, and thinking of this, I felt anxious and saddened for them.
The Boundless of Practitioner Su
Beyond this realm of retribution, Practitioner Su radiated great light, bringing with him boundless Dharma protectors, traversing even more layers of space that I had never seen before. Throughout the entire universe, under the illumination of the Buddha-light, densely packed crowds of beings were constantly emerging. Each spirit had fallen into different spaces due to various Causal Conditions, transforming into all sorts of forms, and most of these spirits were still caught in the cycle of rebirth. I was like that in the past, but the Buddha saved me and helped me regain my clarity, so I hope that more spirits can also be saved.
I joined the ranks of Practitioner Su's daily Chao Du, and the more my heart was illuminated, the brighter it became. I saw the entire universe, with its infinitely layered time and space. In every space, the spirits were still like actors on a stage, unable to wake up, and they were not as fortunate as I was to have walked out. My heart was filled with deep emotion.
Looking at our previous base, the space of China, every region is buried with spaces from different historical eras, the most numerous being the various capitals. Towns that were once capitals have all experienced countless battles. The struggles between great armies, the various events that occurred after the imperial palaces were established, and even the infighting between women in the inner courts—all kinds of violence, strife, jealousy, and harm still exist. One after another, these vengeful spirits have been suffering for thousands of years.
In terms of the Earth, beyond the era of humanity, there are many eras of non-human beings. Some of these non-human beings are deposited in large rock layers, some are under icebergs, and there are even spaces beneath the ocean floor. Some look like shells, others like animals, locked away in these spaces. Their spirits had become dull and stagnant, but after the Buddha-light shone down, they emerged and regained their clarity within the light.
During the process of Chao Du, traversing from the highest levels to the lowest levels—the realms of celestial beings, the spaces within time and space, the earth, the ghost realm, the hells, and so on—Practitioner Su's Dharma Body never stopped. I saw every group of Dharma protectors following Practitioner Su's Chao Du, closely trailing his Dharma Body without a moment's rest. Practitioner Su seizes every second to perform Chao Du, and so many spirits kneel and beg, grateful to Practitioner Su, wishing to be saved. The entire vast space is constantly being purified, and Practitioner Su's Ultimate Vow is being spread throughout the void. I am grateful for Practitioner Su's compassion in saving immeasurable and boundless beings.
Namo Amituofo.
