The Demon Who Sprang from Stone
An Interview with Mo Bizhang, a Primordial Demon
Recorded by Venerable HaiZe on April 16, 2025
This is a record of an interview with Mo Bizhang, a primordial demon who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Land of Nature. This account reflects upon his existence spanning fourteen trillion years. Recorded by the chief writer, Venerable HaiZe, on April 16, 2025.
Mo Bizhang speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. I am Mo Bizhang, and I am currently residing in the Western Land of Dharma Nature at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Goombungee, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. I have finally memorised this long name, so I can say it quite fluently now—which is a good thing. We demon beings usually dislike memorising things, but I kept listening and eventually it stuck. It is quite easy to remember once you hear it, and if you do not want to remember it, you will still pick it up after hearing it once or twice.
A Life Spanning Trillions of Years
Fourteen trillion years—this is the age of my existence in the Dharma Realm, a fact revealed to us all by the Greatly Compassionate Namo Amituofo. Only then did I realise that I had wasted fourteen trillion years since entering the Demon Realm. Why do I call it a waste? Such a long time, how could it be wasted? I did not feel that way originally; I thought I was living a magnificent, vigorous life. But ever since I entered the Western Land of Dharma Nature, I have finally come to understand that the Buddha’s tolerance and salvation for demons is true .
The true self is the only real, permanent life. I know now that the life of a spirit is actually without beginning or end. I did not understand these things before, but I have benefited greatly from listening to Practitioner Su’s Dharma talks here. I have heard so much Buddha-Dharma that I had never encountered before. For the demon crowds, this is truly a massive shock; it has completely overturned our concepts. These concepts were so deeply rooted that they were not easy to change, but since we were able to accept them, we were able to transform. Furthermore, the Buddha-light shining here stimulates the goodness within our hearts, which greatly increases our capacity to accept the Buddha’s teachings.
The Illusion of the Past
In the past, no matter where I was, everything I encountered and saw was an illusion. It is truly hard to understand—it was right before my eyes, so how could it be an illusion? The way a demon’s brain thinks is connected directly to the gut, straight through to the end; how could that be unreal? But looking back now, where are those past fourteen trillion years? I cannot touch them, I cannot feel them, and there is no trace of them left. Even if I had successfully conquered great planets or achieved strange, dark merits, it has all passed. If that is not an illusion, what is? What is called a 'false appearance' is a profound truth in the Buddha-Dharma, though it is not easy to grasp. We had to listen, however. Once I understood, I realised what the true self is all about—I could even become a Buddha! What is a Buddha? Many demons do not know; they only know that a Buddha is very great, does not harm us, and does not harm any beings. That is called compassion. The word 'compassion' does not exist in the heart of a demon, because if you are compassionate, it means others are not compassionate to you! How could that be good? Self-protection is the most important thing for a demon. If you do not protect yourself well, how can you do what you want to do? Therefore, the word 'compassion' felt so distant. But ever since Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su appeared in the Dharma Realm, every little thing we demons have encountered has been built upon compassion, which is why we now have countless demons listening to the sutras here in the Western Land of Dharma Nature.
Born from Stone
Here, we obediently chant Namo Amituofo, and some are even prostrating on their lotus seats—a truly rare sight! You would certainly never see this anywhere outside the Dharma-Nature Land. If you saw a demon in the Demon Realm obediently listening to sutras, prostrating, or chanting, they would surely be told, 'Stop hanging around the Demon Realm!' But the demons in the Western Land of Dharma Nature are different! Almost everyone chooses one of these as their focus here. I dare not call it 'practice' yet; that is still a long way off. After all, we have come from the Demon Realm, having experienced many bitter and rocky events. But let those past things stay in the past! If you are interested in hearing them, I will dig them out of my memory bank and tell you. It seems I should give a brief account.
Well then, I will start from when I was a little demon. In the planets of the Dharma Realm, every planet has its own characteristics, its own inhabitants, and its own way of survival. Some are used to living in the dark, some get a little light, and some live in a world of brightness—that is called a Buddha-land. A Buddha-land and the dark world of demons are two completely different worlds. We had no choice, because you are just a little demon.
I am not a spirit born from the earth. Spirits born from the earth have their own circumstances, but what I want to say is—I truly sprang from a stone! How could such a thing happen? It is so interesting! I once heard such things on Earth, where parents tell their children, 'You sprang from a stone!' I have heard of the Monkey King, Sun Wukong, who also sprang from a stone! There is a Sun Wukong in China who sprang from a stone, and among the demons of the Dharma Realm, there is also a demon who sprang from a stone! I really was born that way. I am quite interested in the story of Sun Wukong, which is how I know such a story exists in China; otherwise, the Dharma Realm is so far from Earth, how could the stories connect? Earthlings probably never imagined that there are beings in the Dharma Realm who sprang from stones, right?
The Power of the Ancient Spirit
I carried spirituality from a young age, and my spirit was different from ordinary ones; I had 'supernatural powers' from birth. This power meant that in my previous life, I was also a demon. Looking back now, it is quite sad. Fate truly happens anytime, anywhere, in different places, and I was in one very special corner. My past life was also as a demon, a very old one. At that time, I found a stone and hid inside it. Once I hid, I simply did not come out. Indeed, many old and ancient demons do the same; their spirits wither in the place where they hide. Because when in deep meditative concentration, if you do not receive support from the surrounding energy, the spirit will wither. The stone I hid in actually became like a meteorite, devoid of any life.
A spirit’s survival requires energy. The more active a spirit is, the more energy it needs, especially since thinking and ideation consume a significant amount. Old demons in deep meditative concentration, although they are in a meditative state, still need very faint energy—for example, the subtle energy in the air, the breath exhaled by seaweed, or the energy that still exists within flames or icebergs. Relying on this faint energy, as long as the spiritual life is willing to survive, it can continue to exist; some, however, are sucked away by the laws of , which also happens.
My spirit was very special. Inside the stone, I wanted to challenge myself to see what I was capable of, so I chose a stone with no life and hid inside. At first, it was manageable, but eventually, the stone really had no life left. Naturally, my spirit could not continue to survive, and I merged with the stone. My spirit still existed, but it withered for a very, very, very long time.
Then, when a dark force passed by, a ray of dark light shone into the stone. Since I was a demon, when this energy penetrated the stone and shone on me, I woke up. This dark energy gave me enough power to wake up, so I came out of the stone—wasn't I a spirit that sprang from a stone? Haha! This spirit was very special because I still carried the abilities of my past life. Although I had withered, my abilities were not erased; although my form was very small, my was very clear. So, when I entered the dark world, I continued to be a demon. It sounds quite miserable, but that is the truth.
The Path of the Demon
Compared to other demons, I was too smart even when I was a little demon; I knew many things. Everyone thought I had the ability to predict the future, but in fact, these were things I knew from my past life—nothing special. But for them, not knowing I was a demon, this was very special. After they verified it, they found it was true! So, from a little demon to a big demon, to an old demon, I could say I ran faster than other demons and reached my destinations ahead of them. Actually, this was very bitter. Why bitter? On the surface, it looked glorious, but deep down, I knew the boundless evil I had committed in the past. It was only after I came here and listened to Practitioner Su’s Dharma talks that I learned this is called 'karma'.
Therefore, my development in the Demon Realm was very smooth. I attacked when I wanted to attack, fought when I wanted to fight, and harmed countless spirits and lives. This was truly a sin! Some of those spirits and lives disappeared, vanishing into the ground; others entered the sky and disappeared, meaning their spirits were scattered. This was caused by the demonic deeds we committed. Casting spells to attack was one of the methods, and there were others. What I was particularly good at was using my thoughts—once I thought of something, it would come true. This is a very terrifying ability.
Many demons are good at thinking, but it is just empty thinking; they do not have the ability to make what they think become reality. But for me, whatever I thought could happen. If I thought of good, good would happen; if I thought of evil, evil would happen. But I was a demon, so how could I think of good? I only thought of evil, of things that made others suffer, so I created much . What I created in the previous life, I continued to create in this life. You tell me, is this karmic retribution heavy? It is extremely heavy. Although I remembered many things, the laws of karma seemed not to exist, so I indulged myself. Karma did not come knocking, perhaps because I had transformed or changed my name, and had not yet been discovered by the laws of karma.
I followed the Demon King of the dark world, and he helped me grow. My demon nature was already strong, so under the Demon King’s education, I became even stronger and more stable, allowing me to dominate a region. At the same time, I knew about being sucked away by the laws of karma, so I did not talk much, did not use my brain much, and tried to save energy whenever possible to protect myself. It was a life of walking on thin ice, because I knew the consequences of being sucked away by karma. In the later stages, until I retired and went into seclusion, I almost never showed my face in the Demon Realm. If you add my previous life in the Demon Realm, it is not just fourteen trillion years; I could say I am a very old demon, although my appearance does not look that old, it is still quite terrifying.
The Truth of Appearance
Practitioner Su’s description was truly vivid: 'How ugly, this face! This head is black and shiny!' It is truly like that, not an exaggeration at all. Practitioner Su’s eyes really can see us. And these terrifying demon forms—some I have not even mentioned yet. Some have no feet, no hands; some have bulging eyes, or are blind in one eye; some have crooked mouths, flat noses, or only one ear. Besides being demons, this is also caused by our own karmic retribution; appearance arises from the mind, and it is exactly so. Some bodies are inverted—have you ever seen a demon with feet on top and head at the bottom? They can still survive.
No two demons have the same experience; everyone has their own story. There are no two versions that are exactly the same; there are definitely differences, and appearances are not the same either. Humans are the same; I have never seen two people who look exactly the same—there are always differences, especially the heart. People’s hearts are not the same either. What a spirit experiences is carved into the , so no two people’s Alaya consciousnesses are the same. Demons are the same; they are just called demons, but in fact, their spiritual condition is the same as other beings, just more intense and darker.
The Stone Seclusion
My fourteen trillion years of life in the Demon Realm passed in the blink of an eye. In the human world, a hundred years is called a centenarian—I learned this from people’s Alaya consciousness only after I came to the Western Land of Dharma Nature. For demons, a hundred years passes in a blink. Actually, that is from the perspective of a demon. For a little demon, a hundred years is still very hard; you have to learn a lot to grow.
I started to retire and go into seclusion around the eight-trillion-year mark, so if you calculate it properly, I spent about six trillion years in deep meditative concentration. During this time, I did come out of meditation. My last life ended in a stone, which shows my spirit has a preference for stones, so in this life, I found a small stone to enter meditation again. This stone had energy, which means there was life inside it. There are spaces within spaces. In a stone that looks very, very small to the human eye, almost invisible, there are many spaces. I found such a small stone and entered meditation inside it. Of course, I also had to shrink my demon body again and again until I could fit into the stone, because I could not make the stone bigger. Why was I not interested in big stones, only small ones? Because they are not easily discovered.
During a major attack in the Demon Realm, the stone I was in was overturned, and I woke up. It turned out that this planet was engaged in an interstellar war with other planets, and I could not just sit by and watch, so I came out of meditation. After I came out, I scared the demons who were attacking the planet near the small stone. Hahaha! They had probably never seen an old demon as ugly and old as me, and I had actually sprang out of a small stone! It was like in a fairy tale, where a figure appears from a magic lamp; I never expected that my appearance would save that planet, scaring away those invading demons! They did not expect a demon to have such magic, with such an ugly form springing out of a small pebble. So, for the planet, that time was a victory without a fight. I saw that the situation could be safely passed, and I could live peacefully for a while longer. This war was won too easily; I just showed myself, and they were scared.
Later, I went back into the small stone to meditate. This also depended on my luck. I moved the small stone to a place that was not easily discovered and stayed there as long as I could! That time I appeared, I used my meditative concentration to suppress everything, without any thoughts, so I avoided the risk of being sucked away by the laws of karma. This time, I decided that no matter what, I would just stay here, not wanting to move, just dealing with things as they came. As it turned out, this meditation lasted about four trillion years until I met Practitioner Su—not a short time.
The Call of the Old Demon
Afterwards, why was I sent to the Western Land of Dharma Nature? Because an old demon discovered my existence, and this old demon was the one from the planet that had retreated without a fight last time. They were deeply troubled by Practitioner Su’s great deliverance of the demons in the Dharma Realm and did not know what to do. Many old demons surrendered automatically, and many others cast spells to attack but vanished without a trace. So, the remaining old demons thought of the old demon who sprang from a stone on that planet. This old demon was quite capable; he found me even though I had changed my location. It was because his sincerity moved me that I came out.
He said, 'Old demon, old demon, we implore you to come out! We cannot enter your stone; the stone is too small, and we cannot shrink ourselves that small. We will kneel outside the stone until you come out.' He knelt for a long time, and I ignored him. I said I could not let my heart be moved, but I heard him and knew what was happening. He was quite sincere. After a while—if we calculate by Earth time—how long had Practitioner Su been delivering the demons of the Dharma Realm? Half a year? A year? He had been kneeling since then until recently, for nearly a year. This old demon really just knelt there; I think he was almost in a meditative state himself.
I softened a bit. Since he was so sincere, I would come out! I sprang out of the stone again. For this scene, just imagine: a small stone, and suddenly a black smoke, a black and shiny smoke, emerged, slowly revealing a demon’s form. He was a demon form that was ugly and shiny. If you were not prepared, you would definitely be scared to death! That old demon had made full psychological preparations. After seeing me come out, he kowtowed and said to me, 'Old demon, old demon, please save us! Save our Demon Realm.' I said, 'What is the matter? Why are you so nervous?'
He told me everything, from the light Practitioner Su brought, to the destruction of the demon palaces, and how they suddenly disappeared without a trace. I never expected such a person to appear in the Dharma Realm, and he was not even from the Dharma Realm; he was from a distant planet, a practitioner from Earth. This piqued my interest. I am not supposed to be moved, but since I was, I would just go with the flow! If I get sucked away by karma, I will accept my fate; if not, then I am lucky. So, I followed the old demon back to his demon kingdom—it was huge. Since he begged me, his demon children and grandchildren naturally became mine. I easily gained many demon children and grandchildren; this is an unwritten rule in the Demon Realm. I told them, 'Fine, I will take action and see what kind of reaction this Practitioner Su has.'
The Battle of Thoughts
I said that thought power is my specialty; whatever I think of can succeed. In Buddha-Dharma, it is called 'thought-wisdom power', and in magic, it is called thought power—but it is demonic thought power, not the Buddha’s. I used my demonic thoughts on Practitioner Su’s whole body. As long as one can receive the dark energy carried in my demonic thoughts, it can wake up a spiritual life. So, I visualised my demonic thoughts covering Practitioner Su’s entire body, the thoughts entering the body, from the skin cells deep into the viscera and organs. As long as they received my demonic thoughts, they would be shaken and wake up to activity. At this time, the body’s cells, receiving negative energy, would produce negative reactions—that is, the tissue would turn black, become blocked, blood circulation would be impeded, and even local organs would die. This is not a good thing; it is a great injury to a human body.
So, on the planets of the Dharma Realm, I emitted this thought power, not against anyone else or other beings, but specifically against Practitioner Su alone. 'To catch the bandits, first catch the king.' Of course, if I caught Practitioner Su, the others would automatically surrender to me. But I was too naive. Although I used my thought power very seriously, Practitioner Su did indeed receive it, because at the same time, I could also receive Practitioner Su’s reaction. Moreover, the cells in his body were shaken, especially the cells in his legs, because there was already a black foundation there. Although they had been repaired, we could still see it. These cells, having been injured in the past, were easily stimulated to show the same injuries as before.
Therefore, Practitioner Su’s body naturally reacted—pain, soreness, or being unable to walk, or having no strength, or even itching and red skin. These are inevitable; this is the reaction of a human body. Based on past experience, most people, if they experienced such changes in their body or spirit, would have surrendered automatically. If it hurts so much you cannot walk, how can you continue? If it is so sore that you have to sit down and rest after every step, how can you take the next one? If it is so black that it oozes fluid, and you have to wrap layer after layer to prevent the fluid from touching other cells and turning them black too—because the fluid carries the demonic nature and poison of our spells—think about it, can such a person continue to do anything? Most would achieve nothing. But from Practitioner Su, I saw a miracle. Although he suffered, and the burden did not decrease, he delivered more demons each time than the last.
The Sound of the Chime
After I attacked for two or three rounds, I was discovered by Practitioner Su. He told everyone, 'I have seen this old demon who is casting spells; he is very ugly, and his eyes and mouth are not aligned. You would definitely be scared to death if you saw him! I was not scared, just felt pity for him.' But this touched my heart. Someone actually said I was pitiable, and it came from Practitioner Su’s mouth. Even more shocking was the next moment when he said, 'I will send these demons who are casting spells to attack me into the Western Land of Dharma Nature!' He struck the large chime, striking it several times in a row. This sound reached the Dharma Realm. I had seen the previous scenes, and I heard the sound of the chime. It was 'resounding through the clouds,' entering the space of the Dharma Realm.
If he had not struck the chime, I could have stayed, but once he struck it—this chime is quite spiritual, and it acts according to the thoughts of the one striking it, Practitioner Su. Therefore, the source of the chime’s suction power comes from the thoughts of the one striking it. At that time, Practitioner Su wanted to send the old demons of the Dharma Realm who were attacking him to the Dharma-Nature Land, which was equivalent to giving an order to the large chime to do so. After striking it, the suction power naturally searched for the target of the order. In fact, it was also the effect of the Twelve Lights, because besides hearing the chime, I also saw the appearance of the Twelve Lights. My spirit had no time to struggle or defend itself, and I directly entered the Buddha-light of the Twelve Lights. The next moment, I was in the Western Land of Dharma Nature. The time before and after this was very short—less than two days by human standards. Because I saw the blackness of Practitioner Su’s scars and the situation of the treatment, it was about two days.
A New Life in the Dharma-Nature Land
After entering the Western Land of Dharma Nature, I lived a completely different life, ending my life as a demon who sprang from a stone and converting to another space—from the space of demons to the space of Buddhas. For spiritual beings, this is a very precious thing. If you convert from one demon space to another, it seems like a very natural thing, just like the connection between my previous life and this one; but if you convert from a demon life to a Buddha life, this is quite special.
This special occurrence of converting from a demon life to a Buddha life has become a common occurrence at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. Almost all the demons who come to the Western Land of Dharma Nature are like this, which is why Practitioner Su’s reputation is so loud in the Dharma Realm.
Another factor is the existence of Namo Amituofo. For demons, Namo Amituofo is a legendary Buddha. The Dharma Realm is so vast, and the Buddha is called the 'Universal Buddha.' 'Universal' means that all the Dharma Realms are merged into one body! Therefore, Namo Amituofo can understand the thoughts, ideas, and the state of the Alaya consciousness of all beings. This is truly amazing, truly great! You do not need to start a thought; naturally, in a meditative state, if you want to see, you can see; if you want to hear, you can hear; if you want to speak, you can send a thought to the other party. If you want to deliver the Demon Realm, demons who know the Buddha have no doubts in their hearts. But for beings who have never met a Buddha, this is truly inconceivable. This part accounts for too large a portion, but it is indeed the truth.
The Buddha’s whole body emits golden light, always emitting golden light. The sutras say that for ten kalpas, the Buddha has been saving beings like this. So, do I have a chance to be saved by Namo Amituofo? I think the chance is very high, because I am here in the Western Land of Dharma Nature of the Buddha-land, telling these processes, which is also helping myself. Of course, the greatest beneficiary is the listener, because I have not said a single wrong word.
So, when I was sent into the light by the chime and arrived at the Western Land of Dharma Nature, and after I figured out the situation through this series of actions, I immediately knelt and said, 'Compassionate and great Buddha, thank you for saving Mo Bizhang, which is equivalent to saving my thousands upon thousands of demon children and grandchildren! Finally, today I have the opportunity to realise my wish!'
The Power of Buddha-Light
What I see and hear here in the Western Land of Dharma Nature is completely different from what I saw and heard in the Demon Realm. The time I have been here is not long. If you convert this time into your time, it has been about half a month, right? I have also seen many juniors come here to look for me, because they knew I appeared and then disappeared, so they must have come here. I can see them, but they cannot see me because our spaces are different. They are in one space, and the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre is in the human space, but there are also many demon spirits inside, doing their things.
The light received at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre can be accepted directly by us without needing to avoid it. The light projected by ordinary electricity consumes energy; if there is no energy, it cannot continue to shine. But what is seen in the Western Land of Dharma Nature is the natural light of the heart, which does not require any electricity, and it is much brighter than electric light—it is incomparable. This light possesses very powerful good energy, which can penetrate into the hearts of every demon or many beings. This good energy can transform the evil energy in the heart; this is the special function of Buddha-light. Under the influence of this light, we demons also reveal our kind nature, and only then did I have the opportunity to say these words. Such a transformation of spiritual life is too special!
The Path of Humility
I want to tell my juniors that I have experienced two spiritual lives that were very long, and only now is this my true home. The life of a demon is not ultimate; in the end, you still have to hide, and such a life is suffering. Before, I had in my heart but was unwilling to accept the word 'suffering,' thinking, 'Where is the suffering? It is just so natural.' The demons I met were all like this. But ever since I arrived at the Western Land of Dharma Nature, I have accepted the word 'suffering.' Many things must be faced to be accepted and changed. If you keep rejecting it when it is clearly a fact, your spirituality will not grow and can only stay in place or retreat. I have seen the inferior roots of people, which is called 'arrogance.' Arrogant people do not admit they have suffering; admitting it means they are weak and cannot change the suffering, and they reject accepting this word in their hearts. The result only causes them to be even more miserable, extremely miserable, and unable to change! This is my, Mo Bizhang’s, inner journey; I have seen many people before me who have similar journeys.
The essence of the Buddha-Dharma is to tell everyone the truth of facts. You must let go of the 'self' to see the true face of facts. If you are still 'I am the greatest,' still the arrogant 'I,' still the 'I' with strong subjectivity, you will never be able to admit that you are suffering. If so, then continue to suffer; no one can save you, because you have blocked your own path to life. For humans, it is the karmic retribution of birth, aging, sickness, and death; they cannot change this karma and still think they are amazing. Or they do not think they are amazing, because they have always lived in such a world.
Why do I say this? They cannot accept any unpleasant words from others, but they can accept everyone’s praise. Such people die the fastest. This is like us old demons watching many arrogant demon kings and thinking: 'You won’t live long either.' The stronger one is, the greater their energy fluctuations. In the universal principle, karmic retribution easily comes knocking—that is, your , attached beings, and even the juniors of the Demon Realm can easily receive your fluctuations and find you. It depends on the demon’s personality. If they are as arrogant as you, their personality will be even stronger, becoming 'demon nature,' but they will be completely unaware of it.
Demons will not admit their mistakes, their bad points, or the shortcomings others point out. This is a demon. If you can admit you are wrong, and think, 'Why was I so arrogant before? It is truly bitter,' then you must learn to be humble and modest, and not show off too much. If showing off is a good thing, you can save many beings, but if it is this kind of appearance, showing off will be mocked. You yourself do not even know it, but those who understand will know at a glance. This is also my inner journey; I was also arrogant like that. Now, it is best for me not to make a sound, to keep my head down quietly, and to chant the Buddha’s name well. I have surrendered my arrogant personality through the Buddha’s name, shaken my heart through the sound of the large chime, and reduced my demon nature through the energy of the Buddha-light, allowing my originally kind heart a chance to reveal itself a little bit every day, and reveal a little more after listening to the sutras and hearing the Dharma.
A Vow to Save
I admit that my two spiritual lives in the Demon Realm were illusions! I have learned this, and I tell everyone: the present moment is the only reality. Those illusions will only stain your spirituality with layer upon layer of filth.
Now I am under the Buddha-light of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, listening to the sutras and hearing the Dharma, prostrating and chanting on my lotus seat, and reciting the sutras with everyone. When I recite the sutras, I am much more serious than everyone else, because we know suffering and do not want to suffer anymore. No matter what, I will never go back to the original Demon Realm. However, I have made a vow: I will be diligent, learn from the Buddha, and after I have achieved success in my learning, the first thing I will do is to save the demons who have karmic affinity with me. In these two spiritual lives, I have encountered countless juniors in the Demon Realm, and the lives I have harmed are countless. Every being on the planet, whose spirituality was originally in the light and later in the darkness, is because I once harmed them; they all have karmic affinity with me! Therefore, I know the monstrous crimes I created in the past. I was lucky not to be sucked away by the laws of karma. The Buddha is compassionate, leaving me this path to life, and now letting me enter the Western Land of Dharma Nature, washing away my demon nature—this heavy and black demon nature—bit by bit, revealing my kind nature. So, I have made this vow.
In the human world, Practitioner Su never relaxes for twenty-four hours a day; he lives for all beings, visualising deliverance, or lecturing on the sutras and teaching beings. He is indeed like this. And I, Mo Bizhang, in the Western Land of Dharma Nature, also do not waste a single moment, twenty-four hours a day. I can tell everyone this because I do four things.
First, chanting the Buddha’s name. Namo Amituofo, Namo Amituofo, Namo Amituofo—chanting sentence by sentence, never stopping. Since I entered the Western Land of Dharma Nature and recognised how amazing this Buddha-name is, I have been chanting until now. The Buddha-name 'Namo Amituofo' can naturally revolve in my heart, and my spirituality has gained light.
Second, prostrating to the Buddha. While prostrating, I can feel the Buddha-light shining on my whole body, sending away the filth from the top of my head to the soles of my feet, bit by bit. Although my spirit is a little clearer after receiving the Buddha-light, there is still such deep filth that it cannot be cleaned all at once. I ask the compassionate Namo Amituofo to help me wash away the filth while I prostrate.
Third, reciting the sutras. When you recite the sutras in the morning service, many beings in our Western Land of Dharma Nature also follow along. I dare not say all beings, as everyone’s heart and nature are different, but many beings follow along, and very seriously, reciting every word clearly, not daring to be lazy.
Furthermore, listening to the sutras and hearing the Dharma. When Practitioner Su lectures on the sutras, many demons do not dare to miss the opportunity to hear the Dharma. Any demon who has been nurtured by the Dharma will listen a second, third, or fourth time. We urgently need to listen to the sutras and hear the Dharma to nourish our spirituality and let it grow. Because my wish is to first achieve myself, and then save the demons in the Demon Realm who have karmic affinity with me. This is what I am doing wholeheartedly in the Western Land of Dharma Nature now.
I, Mo Bizhang, rarely make vows, because I feel that a vow is a restriction, and I cannot do what I want to do to the fullest. But at this time, I have made this vow to urge myself to move forward step by step. I cannot predict what will happen in the future, but I know one thing: as long as I am with the Buddha, this wish will not disappear, because the Buddha’s wish is also to save countless suffering beings. Now, there are too many suffering beings; let us start saving them from the beings I once harmed and the beings of the Demon Realm!
When that time comes, everyone may be scattered in different places, not necessarily in the Dharma Realm, but it does not matter. Meeting is destined by karmic affinity; if there is affinity, there will be a record in the Alaya consciousness. Our ability to see the Alaya consciousness is also first-class; one look and you know if you have karmic affinity with someone from the past. But saving beings requires 'skillful means' to be able to save them, to let them chant the name 'Namo Amituofo,' and to let them know Namo Amituofo and the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This is true and ultimate salvation. It will happen; there will definitely be such a day, definitely—as long as I keep following the Buddha and do not leave the Buddha, there will be such a day.
Alright, I will stop here today. Gratitude and more gratitude.
Namo Amituofo.
