The Demon's Failed Siege and Ultimate Deliverance

This is a record of an interview with the spirit known as Mokuer, who sought Chao Du at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Land of Dharma Nature. This account reflects upon his existence approximately 166 trillion years ago. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Fa Jing, on November 14, 2023.

Mokuer speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Mokuer. The ancient planet where I once existed—the planet Kazmiranoa—has long since vanished from the universe. It was a world from 166 trillion years ago, incredibly ancient, having already experienced countless cycles of formation, existence, decay, and emptiness before finally being extinguished into the void of the cosmos.

When that planet was destroyed, all the spirits residing within it departed from its space. They did not vanish along with the planet; they continued to exist. Depending on their own karmic retribution and causal conditions, they drifted to different destinations, but their spirits remained—just like mine."

An Eternity in the Demon Realm

"166 trillion years is a vast, unfathomable stretch of time. I have spent that entire duration dwelling within the Demon Realm. However, my spirit has not always existed in a singular form. I have been able to utilise magic to occupy the bodies of beings on various planets, living through their physical forms to hide quietly within the universe.

The entire universe is unimaginably vast, filled with every conceivable type of planet. Even after travelling for such an immense duration, there are still vast expanses of space I have never seen and countless planets that remain foreign to me. The universe is simply too large to comprehend.

Although I have existed in this universe for so long, I have yet to see or understand it entirely. A supernatural power exists within the cosmos—an immutable law, a constant principle that governs everything. While I have spent 166 trillion years in the Demon Realm, I have often wondered: will there come a day when I am bound and regulated by these natural laws? I believe there will be. I have always sensed a force within the universe. Though it does not manifest explicitly, it is a power of immense magnitude. No spirit can escape it. Even the strongest demons will eventually be brought to justice by this force; it is impossible to run rampant in the Demon Realm forever.

I have stayed for so long, but I know that sooner or later, this force will come for me. I have been running, trying to evade it for as long as possible, because I still have a grand ambition that I have yet to achieve."

The Ambition of a Primordial Demon

"I am an ancient demon of trillions of years. My 'demon children and grandchildren' outnumber me by thousands of times. With their help, I have occupied a vast number of planets across the universe. These planets could not escape the control of my magic. I turned them from their original state of pure Goodness, introducing evil, until some eventually became entirely devoid of Goodness, with the whole planet completely conquered by our demon crowds.

To reign as king in the universe, the planets I occupy are carefully selected. They all share one common characteristic: they possess powerful energy. Occupying a high-energy planet versus a low-energy one makes a significant difference to my growth. High-energy planets rapidly increase my magic, whereas low-energy planets sometimes require me to provide them with energy to help them maintain a stable state. However, the energy I provide is always negative—energy imbued with demon nature. Once my energy enters a planet, that world becomes entirely corrupted.

I use the energy of these planets to strengthen myself. Only by constantly increasing my magic can I gain the ability to change and hide, ensuring I am not easily discovered or captured.

Our grand goal is to dominate the entire universe. It is a monumental ambition. To this day, no Demon King has ever achieved it—not even the oldest, most primordial demon kings have managed such a feat.

Even if it takes tens of trillions of years to have a chance at dominating the universe, I am willing to wait. I know the vastness of the cosmos; conquering it is not an easy task. It requires time and patience."

The Capture of Zhihui

"I have a demon friend named the Great Demon Zhihui. We met in the Demon Realm and have known each other for hundreds of millions of years. We have never had secrets between us; we have always treated each other with sincerity.

The Great Demon Zhihui possessed immense magic, and he had been a demon for even longer than I. I often had to learn from him. It was under his guidance that I was able to hide in the Demon Realm for so long without ever being detected.

The reason I am introducing my old friend, the Great Demon Zhihui, is that he has now left the Demon Realm.

When Zhihui left, I did not know immediately. It was only later, when my demon children and grandchildren reported it to me, that I learned he was gone. I was devastated. When I inquired why he had left, I discovered he had been captured.

I knew the power of the universe was great enough to capture Zhihui, but he was not taken by the laws of the universe. He was captured by 'Practitioner Su' from the planet 'Earth'.

When I learned of this, I was furious. I have occupied so many planets, yet I had never visited Earth. I could not believe that a human on that planet could capture one of the great elders of our Demon Realm. I simply could not believe such a thing could happen.

I could not stand by and watch my old friend be taken. He had helped me so much in the past; now that he was suffering, I had to step forward to help him. I intended to rescue him from Practitioner Su, bring him back to our Demon Realm, and use all my magic to protect him so he would not be easily captured again."

The Failed Siege

"To this end, I first trained a large elite force. These elites were my most prized demon children and grandchildren—each possessed powerful magic, rapid reaction speeds, and high energy. They were formidable in battle and had each performed great deeds, helping me occupy many planets. I valued them highly.

To attack Practitioner Su and rescue the Great Demon Zhihui, I dispatched these elites. I believed that with their combined strength, we would certainly be able to rescue Zhihui and perhaps even subdue Practitioner Su, bringing him back to our Demon Realm to join our team and strengthen our forces.

Everything was planned perfectly. We arrived at Practitioner Su's location last week. Before arriving, we had already scouted the area and knew clearly that there were many Dharma protectors guarding him. They protected Practitioner Su tightly, preventing him from being attacked by external forces. We had seen many other demon kings come here, only to be defeated and eventually subdued by Practitioner Su.

With so many failed examples before us, we certainly did not want to suffer the same fate. Therefore, we made a very thorough and meticulous plan, using an overwhelming number of demon crowds to win this battle.

In less than a second of Earth time, the elite troops had filled the entire sky. There was not a single gap; it was all demons. I was quite satisfied with this sight. With so many demons, how could Practitioner Su and those Dharma protectors possibly be our match? We formed a great formation in the air, rapidly unleashing our magic, casting spell after spell. Every spell was aimed at Practitioner Su's physical body, intending to cause him such intense pain that he would be forced to surrender.

We did not expect Practitioner Su to be so resilient. No matter how powerful the spells we cast, he remained completely unmoved. His heart was entirely in a deep meditative state, completely unaffected by the changes in his physical body.

I was puzzled. What kind of human is this? How could he possibly achieve such a state?

Just as I was still confused and trying to see through Practitioner Su, a massive chime bowl appeared in mid-air. As soon as we saw it, we reacted immediately, rushing to cast spells to shatter the chime so it could not produce a sound, which would prevent any Dharma power from being unleashed.

Who would have expected that Practitioner Su's speed was faster than ours? Before we could even cast our spells, he had already struck the chime. A loud, resonant sound rang out—a powerful force that instantly sucked all of us demons in. Even I could not escape the power of this chime. I was completely unable to break free and was simply pulled inside."

Practitioner Su gave Mokuer the Dharma name 'Shi Hushun'.

Reflections on the Thrice Yearning Ceremony

"In an instant, we were sent to the Western Land of Dharma Nature. We were all stunned. How could it be so sudden?

I quickly recalled the entire process. Our magic was completely inferior to Practitioner Su's. Even after sending so many elites, we were defeated by him in an instant. I wanted to know why.

When this question arose in my heart, a voice actually answered me. The voice told me: 'Evil cannot triumph over righteousness.' I immediately looked around to see where the voice came from. When I saw that the voice came from the Great Demon Zhihui, I was even more stunned.

The Great Demon Zhihui was sitting on a lotus seat just like us, but he was no longer his old self. He had become so young; he no longer looked like an old demon. He did not even look much like a demon anymore; he seemed to possess a new kind of Wisdom.

The Great Demon Zhihui said that I was right to be surprised. He is no longer called the Great Demon Zhihui; the Buddha gave him the Dharma name 'Shi Zhihui'. Now, he truly possesses Wisdom. He even knows how to counsel us and teaches us to be grateful to Practitioner Su.

I found what the Great Demon Zhihui said, and his dignity, hard to believe. How could such a massive change happen in such a short time?

The Great Demon Zhihui said that we should all be grateful to Practitioner Su. If it were not for Practitioner Su's rescue, given the karma we had created, our end would have been absolutely miserable. I understood what Zhihui said, and I also believe that I would have eventually been taken away by the impartial power of the universe; I just did not know when that day would come.

Now, we have been brought by Practitioner Su to the Western Land of Dharma Nature, and we do not have to suffer retribution for the time being. This is the righteous power of Practitioner Su—he has the ability to subdue us, and it is filled with immense compassion. He does not want to harm us or defeat us, but to help us depart from the demon path as soon as possible.

I watched Practitioner Su quietly. He is truly formidable. He can effortlessly use his countless manifestations to enter the universe and the Milky Way. Practitioner Su enters many layers of space, each containing countless planetary bodies and sentient beings, including immeasurable and boundless dust and nebulae. Under Practitioner Su's Chao Du, they all see the golden light and quickly depart along with it. Those planetary bodies are all purified, and some have even recovered their energy because of it. It is truly inconceivable.

I have a new respect for Practitioner Su. Even the Great Demon Zhihui has long since bowed down to him. He is truly extraordinary.
