The Farmer of the Demon Realm: A Testimony of Transformation

An Interview with the Ancient Demon Mo Nongxin

A 989-Billion-Year-Old Earth Demon from the Western Dharma-Nature Land

This is a record of an interview with Mo Nongxin, an ancient demon who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the . This account reflects upon his existence spanning approximately 989 billion years. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Fa, on March 25, 2026.

Mo Nongxin speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. My name is Mo Nongxin, and I am an Earth demon who has existed for 989 billion years. The name 'Mo Nongxin'—which translates to 'Demon Farmer's Heart'—perfectly captures my approach to being a demon. I operate with the mindset of an old farmer: I put forth my greatest effort to sow seeds and cultivate the land, but once the work is done, I let go completely. I leave the final harvest to the heavens; it is not for me to decide the outcome."

A Different Kind of Demon

"Compared to other demon crowds, I am quite gentle and follow the flow of Causal Conditions. To me, controlling humans is just like farming. Whatever the result may be, it is determined by the heavens or by the natural forces of the universe—it is not something I can control. Since that is the case, why should I be anxious or waste my energy and spirit? It is far better to face everything with a relaxed mind. This is the greatest difference between me and other demon crowds.

Many demon crowds are constantly obsessing: 'How many humans can I control? How should I control them? How vast an empire can I build?' If their efforts fail or they encounter obstacles, they rush to their demon kings or ancient demons, crying out in panic. To me, this is laughable. If a person can be controlled by you, it is because they have a karmic affinity with you. If they cannot be controlled, that is simply the laws of and cause and effect at work."

The Wisdom of Letting Go

"Regardless of the situation, I believe that everything is arranged in the shadows. We may not be able to see every little detail clearly, but once you understand this principle, it helps you release many attachments. Even though we demons have entered the Demon Realm and are constantly performing 'demon work' to seek energy, it does not mean we should act like fools, shouting all day about controlling people. It is better to be like a diligent office worker or a farmer, honestly fulfilling one's duty. As for the results, whatever happens, happens.

The humans we hold in our palms, while still living in the human world, are effectively our 'demon children and grandchildren.' However, if these humans are saved by other forces and escape our control, I do not see that as a bad thing. Why? Because that, too, is a natural phenomenon within the natural order."

The Dignity of a Demon

"In short, I believe that if demon crowds become agitated or frantic over their work, it is truly lacking in dignity. Yes, dignity. In my heart, I believe that is a very undignified way to behave. A true demon should carry out their work with detachment and possess a broad, open mind. That is the model we in the Demon Realm should follow.

Of course, I do not claim to be such a perfect demon myself, but there is no harm in having such a dream. I have always taught the demon kings and demon children and grandchildren who follow me to adopt this mindset. We do our work seriously, and we spread our influence as much as we can. As for the final result, we leave it to Causal Conditions. What is ours will be ours; what is not, we cannot grasp no matter how hard we try."

A Changing Landscape in China

"There are too many demon crowds in this world obsessed with these things; it is not up to us to worry about whether humans are being controlled or what the results of our work will be. Because of this, I have much more time than other demon crowds to do other things. Controlling humans is a simple matter of success or failure. Is it necessary to wait like a rabbit by a tree 24/7? For me, it is not. I would rather use my extra time to cultivate my meditative concentration, allowing myself to remain calm in the face of danger and maintain a detached state of mind. I find that to be much more valuable.

With this mindset, I have survived in the Demon Realm quite well for 989 billion years. Recently, however, the land of China has become 'red hot.' Why do I say that? Because for some reason, powerful beings from many other spaces—including the universe, the Milky Way, and beyond—have brought their demon forces to take root in China. I must say, their vision is excellent! China indeed holds a very special position on Earth."

The Power of the True Teachings

"Actually, I am not entirely unfamiliar with the Buddha’s teachings. During the time of layman Vimalakirti, I once heard him teach. I have always held the Buddha’s teachings and the power of the True Teachings in high regard. It is a rare and magnificent karmic affinity to encounter Buddha or appearing in the world to teach the scriptures. Although the Buddha’s teachings in China have been declining for the past century or two, and in recent years have been completely blocked, the situation is clear: true Buddhism has vanished in China.

Because of this, demon crowds in China have been having a grand time, jumping around without any power to restrain them. The Buddha’s teachings are like a protective talisman for the human heart. Without that talisman, the gates of the human heart are thrown wide open, leaving them vulnerable. I and many other demon crowds knew that the fortune in China would reach its lowest point in these years—the Age of Dharma Decline. Yet, it is precisely in these years that a power of the True Teachings has appeared, allowing the entire Dharma fortune of China to flip from decline to the True Teachings."

The Light of Hsiang Kuang

"This is a trend that many demon crowds in China have observed. How will it all develop? We have no doubts; the answer is clear. The person currently making waves in China is Practitioner Su from the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. He has been performing mass across various provinces, sweeping through countless demon palaces and saving immeasurable and boundless demon crowds. There is no doubt: this power of the True Teachings comes from the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Goombungee, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia.

I hear that this is the place where Namo Amituofo abides, and that Namo Amituofo is shining his light there 24/7! I also hear there is another Buddha, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, and Practitioner Su, who has realised his true nature and attained Buddhahood in the human world. These three—the three Buddhas standing together—have come to save immeasurable and boundless beings! How magnificent!"

A Choice for Deliverance

"Haha, I know many might wonder why my stance does not sound like a demon's, and why I am so happy about the appearance of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. I must admit, I am different from the demon factions who resist to the death. As you can see from my name, 'Mo Nongxin,' I have the heart of a farmer. A farmer must have the ability and awareness to change naturally with the environment and the situation.

Entering the Demon Realm was not my choice. Once I was there, I simply did my work, living day by day. But now, encountering this power of the True Teachings that saves us and gives us the chance to be reborn and transform, I support it with both hands and feet! Being a demon is like being a fool, only knowing how to control people and perform demon work. It is actually quite boring. Now that Practitioner Su has given us this opportunity, why not accept it joyfully? I think it is a great choice!"

The Power of

"When I first saw Practitioner Su, my first reaction was to kneel and pay homage, because I could see from his spirit that he was the same layman Vimalakirti who once taught me. For those who truly practice and have virtue in Buddhism, and for Buddha or Bodhisattva, they can truly soothe the deep wounds within our demon hearts. That feeling is something you can only understand once you have experienced it. I am very fortunate to be one of those who have.

Now, listening to the Dharma in the Western Dharma-Nature Land at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, I have learned that this is called the 'power of compassion.' I know many demon crowds might want to laugh at that. But look at the facts: Practitioner Su has used the power of compassion to sweep through every deep space and every demon palace in China. No force can resist the Twelve Lights brought by Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su! This great power comes from Practitioner Su’s immeasurable and boundless vow, mind-capacity, and compassion. Compassion is truly an extraordinary power. This is a profound realisation I had when I first met layman Vimalakirti, and I have remembered it ever since, hoping to continue our Dharma affinity. This time, the good roots planted by layman Vimalakirti have finally matured. I am now listening to the Dharma every day in the Western Dharma-Nature Land, where the lotus fragrance wafts, and I am filled with Dharma ."

A New Life in the Dharma

"My demon palace was located in a farm in Liaoning Province, which fits my style perfectly. Do not let my 'go-with-the-flow' attitude fool you; my palace was quite grand! Furthermore, I had many demon children and grandchildren. They were not specifically recruited; they simply knew my style and naturally gathered around me. When Practitioner Su performed his Chao Du, he did not miss Liaoning Province. I was not surprised that he found my palace; I had been prepared for this day for a long time.

That day, Practitioner Su used the and his countless manifestations to cover the entire province. He destroyed my palace completely and sent me and my demon children and grandchildren to the Western Dharma-Nature Land. My heart is satisfied; after all, I was ultimately saved by layman Vimalakirti. Now, in the Dharma-Nature Land, I have learned that the sins we committed as demons were truly immense, causing harm to so many beings. Everything has a cause and effect, and we must repay it. This is a heavy realisation. Practitioner Su teaches us to let go of the past and not worry about the future, but to simply chant one Buddha's name to the end in the present moment. When I heard this, my eyes lit up! It is a wonderful method. So, I am now following Practitioner Su’s instructions, diligently chanting 'Namo Amituofo.'

Regardless of everything, I have had the chance to come to the Western Dharma-Nature Land and have been reborn. This is all due to the compassionate vow of Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su. My demon children and grandchildren and I are very grateful. We feel as though we have become new people, starting a new life of practice in the Western Dharma-Nature Land.

Finally, I want to call upon the demon crowds in China: hurry and seek refuge! There are now three Buddhas here to save us; this is a precious opportunity that you must not miss. In any case, you must immediately stop using magic to attack Practitioner Su. The sins you are creating are too great to repay. It is harmful to yourselves and serves no purpose. You must stop this impulsive behaviour and stop adding to your unpayable karmic debts. This is my sincere advice to the demon crowds of China.

Now, I must continue to chant 'Namo Amituofo.' One day, I will also be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Gratitude to Namo Amituofo, gratitude to Practitioner Su.

Mo Nongxin"
