Namo Amituofo. I am Wu Fan, a humble monastic. It is a profound blessing to be here once again to share my thoughts with all of you. I am able to speak today because Practitioner Su, in his great , has invited me to share these words. When I was still living in the world, I recorded a compact disc of the Sutra. Looking back, I recall that I recorded it because my voice was considered clear and pleasant, and I was fortunate to have the support and encouragement of my teacher, Venerable Master Chin Kung.

The Shadows of My Former Practice

At that time, I believed that my voice could help those who were learning to recite the sutras, those who were illiterate, or those in different countries who wished to join in the practice. While it is true that my efforts were recognised and that I was able to perform a service for the fourfold assembly, I now realise that I lacked a true, deep understanding of Namo Amituofo. I lacked the profound gratitude that must arise from the heart, the genuine desire to follow in the footsteps of the Buddha, and the sincere vow to be reborn in the of Ultimate Bliss. For a practitioner of the Pure Land path, these internal states of mind and the strength of one's vows are of the utmost importance. Without them, one's practice remains superficial.

The Infinite Grace of the Holy Name

Practitioner Su has recorded several discs of the Buddha-name and has respectfully recited the Infinite Life Sutra (The Buddha Speaks the , Infinite Life, Adornment, Purity, Impartiality, and Sutra). In particular, the recordings titled "Western Road" and "Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre Six-Character Holy Name" are different. They represent the infinite care and expectations of Namo Amituofo for all sentient beings. They serve as a guiding light, leading us to leave suffering behind and find happiness through rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.

These recordings are priceless, precious prayers. They are the sound of absolute praise and gratitude for Namo Amituofo, expressed through a heart that is filled with compassion for all beings, without regret or complaint. It is this quality of sound that truly touches the human heart. It inspires those with karmic affinity to follow the melody and join in the recitation of that most precious treasure, the Holy Name of "Namo Amituofo," which has the power to help us transcend life and death, escape the three realms, and forever leave behind the cycle of rebirth.

A Bridge Across the Infinite Void

Sound is a bridge that connects our intentions. The Holy Name of "Namo Amituofo" is the ultimate bridge between the great compassion of Namo Amituofo and the immeasurable, boundless suffering of sentient beings. To save and deliver all beings, Namo Amituofo has infused the Holy Name with infinite methods, infinite merit and virtue, infinite Wisdom, infinite virtuous capabilities and auspicious characteristics, and the power of the Forty-eight Great Vows. As long as one has the karmic affinity and is willing to make the vow to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, and is willing to respectfully recite "Namo Amituofo," one has the opportunity to attain that rebirth.

The Path of Humble Transformation

You may wonder why I, as a monastic, chanted the Buddha-name for so many years and yet did not attain rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss during my lifetime. The reason is that I did not truly change my personality or my habits. I allowed arrogance to take root, and I did not know how to be humble and modest. Furthermore, I did not resolve the conflicts with my from my past lifetimes. Instead, I became severely ill. Naturally, under those conditions, I could not attain rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.

A Beacon of Hope from the Western Pure Land

In this lifetime, I did not manifest the achievement of rebirth for the world to see. Fortunately, after I passed away, I received the from Practitioner Su, which allowed me to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. It is only because of this that I am able to speak to you now from the Western Land, sharing the truths I hold in my heart. I am filled with gratitude to Namo Amituofo, to Practitioner Su, and to the fourfold assembly of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. You may find me at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre.

If you have the affinity to listen to the recordings of "Western Road" and "Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre Six-Character Holy Name" by Practitioner Su, you will surely receive the of the Buddha. You will establish a Dharma affinity, and there will certainly come a day when you attain rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Namo Amituofo.
