This is a record of a message from Venerable Master Wei Chueh, who now resides in the of Ultimate Bliss. This letter, the twenty-second in a series, was recorded by the disciple Shi Faxi on July 8, 2017. It serves as a profound reminder of the necessity for genuine spiritual practice and the dangers of lingering attachments that prevent one from seeing the truth.

Venerable Master Wei Chueh speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. There are far too many trivial matters that occupy your hearts, creating obstacles and blinding you from seeing the ultimate truth. How, then, can you expect to see Namo Amituofo? Think about it—if your heart is cluttered with the mundane, how can it reflect the clarity of the ?

Our Buddha is compassionate—a true, immeasurable that never abandons the sentient beings drifting in the sea of . You and I are among them. We have all grown accustomed to a certain stubbornness; we are unwilling to accept criticism. Whenever someone points out our faults, we immediately prick up our ears, ready to strike back in defence. This is a common human habit. If someone tells you that you are not doing well, you refuse to accept it, and deep within your heart, a fire of anger begins to burn. Whether this anger is expressed outwardly or hidden within, it is always quietly consuming your energy. How can you possibly engage in proper practice under such conditions?"

The Mirror of the True Self

"I do not wish to say much today. I only want everyone to look clearly at your own true face. Are you truly filled with Goodness, or are you harbouring evil? Have you truly prepared yourself to begin your practice? I look at most of you, and I see that you have not even begun. Do you agree with me? Your days are numbered, and time is fleeting. Do not continue to waste your life on these seven emotions and the , or on greed, anger, delusion, and arrogance. It is simply not worth it. Furthermore, you are continuing to create karma.

This is especially dangerous for those who have entered a bodhimanda or who claim to be practitioners of the Buddha Dharma. If your character has not been transformed, you are in a very perilous position, and you will never achieve your spiritual achievements. Do not let your life come to an end only to find that you have accumulated immeasurable and boundless sins. Remember, every mental note you make creates karma. Even if you do not speak your negative thoughts aloud, and even if they are not visible to others, the karmic cause has already been planted."

The Path to

"If the fourfold assembly wishes to be pure and cultivate well, you must make a sincere effort to change. These negative mental states must not be allowed to exist. Once you understand this, you should realise how far you still are from the great path of Bodhi. No matter when you start, it is never too late, because the Buddha is standing there, waiting with such great compassion. Please, practise well. Only then will this life not have been lived in vain. My heart remains most concerned for my children at Chung Tai.

Namo Amituofo."
