This is a record of an interview with the infant spirit of Lay Practitioner Dai, who was aborted in 1984 and sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. The spirit now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Recorded by the chief writer, Fa Ning, on January 30, 2026.

The Infant Spirit of Lay Practitioner Dai speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. Namo Amituofo to you, and Namo Amituofo to Practitioner Su. I am the child of my mother. Today, I have arrived here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. First and foremost, I must express my deepest gratitude to Namo Amituofo and to Practitioner Su. I am also profoundly grateful to my mother for arranging the Chao Du for me, which allowed me to reach this magnificent place. Truly, all of this has come about through such wonderful .

Mother, I know that you truly wanted to bring me into this world, but you were faced with circumstances that left you with no other choice but to let me go. I know this. I understand everything that happened. But please, Mother, I truly do not hold any resentment towards you. Not even a little bit. Because the truth is, now that I have arrived in the and have come to understand the laws of and cause and effect, I have been listening to the teachings of the sutras. I realise that this was simply the karmic connection between us from the past, which is why things unfolded the way they did today."

A Karmic Connection Beyond Time

"Our connection is quite special, you know. It is precisely because of this connection—because I was your child—that I was granted the opportunity to be reborn in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Think about it—is this not a far better outcome than what many other children experience? I have seen so many children who, after growing up, lead lives filled with hardship and suffering. When they eventually pass away, they rarely have the chance to be reborn in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Yet, I was able to stay by my mother's side and, with such ease, be guided to this pure realm. I am already so incredibly grateful for this blessing.

Yes, I must be honest—there was a time when I felt immense pain. At the very moment I was taken away, my entire body felt as though it were being crushed. It was as if every part of me was being torn apart; it was absolutely agonising! But as time passed, I slowly began to let go, and that deep, searing pain was eventually forgotten."

The Suffering of the Unseen

"Watching everything from here, looking back at the human world, I have come to realise that there are so many other infant spirit Bodhisattvas who are not as fortunate as I am. They have remained by their mothers' sides for such a long time. Some are still drifting in the space between realms, while others have become wandering spirits. None of them have had the opportunity to be reborn in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Their suffering—that is the true, deep suffering of this world.

Seeing all of this, I must say that I am truly much more fortunate than they are. My are simply too great to be reborn in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss in this way. They are still out there, wandering and lost. I truly cannot help but shed tears when I see them. I hope that one day, I will have the opportunity to save them, just as I was saved, so that they too might have this precious chance to be reborn in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss."

A Vow to Return

"I want to express my gratitude once again to Namo Amituofo, to Practitioner Su, and to my mother. I am so thankful for all these beautiful karmic conditions that have allowed me to finally and perfectly be reborn in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. From this point forward, I will diligently continue my practice. I have made a vow that I will return to the human world to save these poor little Bodhisattvas, to bring them all to safety. This is my heart's deepest wish.

Namo Amituofo."
