From a Fragment of Flesh to a Child of Light
An Interview with the Spirit of an Infant Delivered by Practitioner Su
Recorded on January 23, 2026
This interview was recorded on January 23, 2026, by Chief Writer Fa Ning. It documents the testimony of an infant spirit who, having been saved through the compassionate performed at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia, now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. The spirit shares his journey from the depths of pain and resentment to the of his new existence, reflecting on the transformative power of the .
The Infant Spirit speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. To be born into this world, to grow from a child into an adult, to marry, to have children, and eventually to face the cycle of aging, sickness, and death—this is the path of fate for most human beings. But for me, a spirit who never had the chance to draw a full breath, the journey was entirely different. Because my mother made a choice between her career, her life, and my existence, I was reduced to a mere fragment of flesh and blood. It was only later, when my mother arranged for my Chao Du, that I was granted the merit to be guided by the compassionate Practitioner Su to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss."
The Weight of Resentment and the Healing of the Soul
"To be honest, when I was still trapped as an infant spirit, I felt a deep, burning resentment. But more than that, I felt an overwhelming, crushing pain. The state of my death was inherently agonizing, and that suffering clung to me even after I became a spirit. I was in constant, unbearable torment. However, after my mother performed the Chao Du for me, I was rescued and brought to the at the temple. Every day there is filled with such comfort and joy. I even have an 'infant spirit home' where everything I could ever want appears instantly—Disneyland, delicious treats, and endless games. Practitioner Su even restored my body to its original, perfect form. Naturally, my resentment toward my mother melted away, replaced by a profound sense of gratitude."
"It might sound like I was 'bought off' by the comforts of this new life, but that is simply the reality of us spirits—or ghosts, as you might call us. We are incredibly straightforward. If someone causes us pain, we remember the grudge and want to see them suffer in return. If someone grants us kindness, we remember that grace and seek to repay it. It was only after listening to the Dharma teachings in the Western Dharma-Nature Land that I truly understood the laws of and cause and effect. It is all so clear now."
A New Life in the Western Land
"Thank you, Mother. In the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, I have been reborn in the truest sense. In this world where every wish is fulfilled, there is not a single trace of pollution in the environment, and my heart is free from any defilement. I am so grateful for all of this, because I truly love this cleaner, purer version of myself. I have heard that as I continue my practice and my spiritual level rises, I might one day become like Practitioner Su at the temple—a soul of crystalline, golden light. That would likely mean I have become a Buddha. I do not know how long that will take, but here in the West, the very concept of time seems to fade away naturally. I believe that in the future, I too will be able to save all boundless suffering sentient beings, helping countless people and countless spirits alike. Hahaha!"
The Boundless Grace of the Temple
"Mother, when I think about it, the grace that the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia has bestowed upon us is simply too vast to measure! It is only because of the presence of Namo Amituofo and the compassionate vows and practice of Practitioner Su that our relationship—once defined by deep resentment—has been transformed into a joyful, grateful, and virtuous connection. From the vantage point of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, I can clearly see so many people in the world who do not have the luck or the to encounter such magnificent Causal Conditions. They remain trapped in cycles of hatred and harm, unable to turn their negative karma into a foundation for goodness and mutual support."
"Mother, while you still have the strength, you must introduce the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia to as many people as possible. Even if it is just one person at a time, it matters. From the West, I see that people are truly suffering so deeply, yet they cannot find an exit. They do not know what changes they can make. The Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre is exactly the ray of light they need."
A Message of Joy
"Mother, I know that when you read this interview, you will likely want to cry. But please, do not be sad. You should be joyful instead! I am now a resident of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, living a life of supreme happiness. I hope that one day, you too will come to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. I also send my heartfelt blessings that many more people will be able to come to the temple to see the Buddha."
"I am grateful for everything. Namo Amituofo."
