Those who have been our across countless lifetimes are invited to listen to the sutras and hear the . By doing so, they come to understand the nature of Namo Amituofo and the beauty of the of Ultimate Bliss. Through this understanding, they may find the willingness to resolve the conflict, allowing them to be guided to the Western Land and achieve ultimate liberation.
Purifying through Devotion
The profound and subtle Dharma is contained entirely within the Buddha-name. It encompasses all teachings and clarifies the fundamental principles of the universe. This practice is perfectly adapted to the nature of all beings, providing a universal benefit that transcends boundaries. Whether one is in the six realms of existence or among the four holy states, whether one is mired in the turbid world or walking a path of purity, all are welcome to enter this great vessel of the Dharma.
Within this vessel, all phenomena are free to flow, yet the practitioner remains steady and composed. As you recite the Buddha-name, you are invited to wash away the dust and grime of your past actions. With every repetition of the Buddha-name, your true, pure nature is revealed. This practice spans the past, present, and future; it cleanses the practitioner, sweeps away all obstacles, and brings a sense of clarity to the Six Roots.
The Compassionate Call to Suffering Beings
As the practice deepens, it permeates both your inner and outer life. Your body becomes light, your energy flows smoothly, and your heart becomes as clear and transparent as a mirror. You will find yourself free to move forward on the path of . When you encounter a true spiritual friend, they will guide you away from confusion, help you eliminate the stains of attachment, and teach you to replace emotional entanglements with .
When the heart is clear, wisdom manifests. When the mind is harmonised, purity is attained. Through steadfast perseverance, you will gain the wisdom necessary to reach your ultimate destination. From the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, Namo Amituofo looks back upon all beings who are still sinking in the sea of suffering. How many share this karmic affinity, yet find themselves unable to escape their difficult circumstances?
Healing , Mind, and Spirit
When one is trapped in a state of confusion, the mind becomes agitated and the spirit finds no rest. The body suffers, and the senses become clouded: the eyes cannot see clearly, the ears hear only discord, and the spirit remains in constant turmoil. In such times, there is only one remedy: the sweet dew of the Dharma, the rain of the teachings that nourishes the body, mind, and spirit.
The great compassionate power of Namo Amituofo acts as a catalyst, revitalising your cells and shaking you into a state of true wakefulness. Consider the following transformations:
- When you encounter chaos: The Buddha-name acts as a steadying force, pouring into your to restore clarity, like a sky clearing after a storm.
- When you encounter stagnation: The waters of the Buddha's wisdom wash away the blockages, allowing you to see the truth of your situation with absolute clarity.
- When you encounter darkness: The Buddha-light shines everywhere, breaking through the gloom and illuminating the path ahead.
The Path to Ultimate Liberation
If these karmic creditors are not resolved, they will continue to wander in the cycle of rebirth, not knowing where to go or what their future holds. They may return to their karmic debts, or those who seek to resolve them may find themselves sinking alongside them. They will be pulled back into the six realms of existence, governed by the laws of , trapped in the endless cycle of birth, aging, sickness, and death. How can one ever hope to escape?
At the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, the Buddha-heart of Namo Amituofo is ever-present.
