This is a record of an interview with a spirit who was aborted during the period when his mother, Chen Lihua, was between the ages of 26 and 33. He sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia and now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his journey from the shadows of the spirit realm to the light of the Buddha. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Fajing, on March 14, 2025.

The Spirit speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. The fear that once gripped my heart has finally vanished. When I saw the compassionate Namo Amituofo, I could not help but smile with pure . I am so deeply grateful to Practitioner Su for bringing me to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. I am no longer afraid; I have become brave, and my heart is filled with happiness."

The Loneliness of the Unseen

"For such a long time, I stayed by my father and mother's side. But they existed in their space, and I seemed to be trapped in my own. It was as if there was an invisible wall between us. They could not see me, and they could not hear me calling out to them. No matter how much I cried, no matter how much I threw a tantrum in my desperation, they remained completely unaware of my presence. It was a cold, isolating existence that I would not wish upon anyone.

"Back then, I was so angry and so terrified. I did not know where to go, and without the warmth and love of a father and mother, I was left all alone. There was no one to comfort me, no one to hold me. Even though I felt such intense anger and sorrow, I never wanted to harm my parents. I just could not understand why they did not want me. I started to think that perhaps I was the one who was bad, that I was not good enough. That thought made me feel so inferior and depressed. I would cry constantly, and often, I would find myself screaming into the void, hoping someone would hear."

A Transformation of Heart

"When I grew to be about nine or ten years old, I stopped crying and screaming. I suppose I just grew tired of the pain. Later on, I settled into the appearance of a fifteen-year-old boy. At that time, I liked how I looked—it felt like I was on the verge of growing up, yet still holding onto a bit of that childhood innocence. But look at me now! I feel like a monastic, with my head shaved clean, kneeling before Namo Amituofo, constantly chanting His name. I feel as though I have matured so much more; I must be in my twenties or thirties now, do you not think?

"The Causal Conditions of this life are truly miraculous. Looking back at the path that led me here, I feel nothing but gratitude. All the pain and suffering I endured in the past has been washed away; I have forgotten it all. I am so thankful to my father and mother for giving me life, and I am eternally grateful to the compassionate Practitioner Su for saving me. I have been delivered. I have more than many other spirits in my position, to be brought here to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, where I no longer have to endure the cycle of being reincarnated."

Gratitude and the Path Ahead

"I will continue to practise diligently here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. I love it here, and I truly love who I have become. I am no longer afraid of anything. My heart is so happy, so peaceful, and I will continue to chant Namo Amituofo forever.

"My humble obeisance to the Buddha. Namo Amituofo."
