Dialogue with Namo Amituofo on Leaving Suffering and Gaining Happiness
Words of Namo Amituofo
Recorded by Venerable HaiZe on 13 July 2017

The Infinite Nature of the
Disciple: May the Buddha compassionately protect and bless your child. I beseech the Buddha for compassionate teachings.
Words of Namo Amituofo: The pure Body is clear, bright, and vast beyond measure. It is majestic and infinite. Within this state of absolute purity, how could there be any sense of separation or attachment? It permeates the entire Dharma realm, existing as one unified whole. In this state, all things are seen as they truly are—empty of inherent existence. There is no thing to grasp, no event to be troubled by, and no emotion to be swayed by. Yet, it is precisely this emptiness that contains the potential for all things. It is the original nature of your heart, which has always been boundless and inexhaustible.
We are here to save those who have not yet been saved and to form virtuous connections with those who have not yet been reached. Where is the Reward Body of the Buddha? It manifests right here, in this very moment, to guide you. Your physical form, composed of the eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, and mind, was born from your mother’s womb, but your intent is something you can cultivate and refine. By chiselling away at your own heart and aspirations, you can transcend the limitations of the six realms of existence. While external circumstances may fluctuate, you have the power to change your karmic destiny through this very physical form.
The Three Bodies of the Buddha
What is the Transformation Body? It exists to respond to the diverse roots and capacities of all beings, manifesting according to their . It may appear in any form: as a Buddha, as a familiar face, or as an animal. Whether as a crawling insect or a flying bird, it responds in myriad ways. It can enter the six realms and is ever-present throughout the ten directions of the Dharma realm. Observing what each being requires, it provides teachings and guidance, always helping them to leave suffering behind so they do not fall back into the cycle of pain.
Everything is in accordance with Causal Conditions, changing and flowing naturally. Manifesting due to these conditions, the three bodies of the Buddha—the Dharma Body, the Reward Body, and the Transformation Body—are ultimately one. The one can become three. Reaching the state of an awakened being is not empty; it is returning to your original face, whether in form or formless. Everything returns to the one true reality, free from duality. This is the state of effortless, natural action, where the true image is revealed as having no fixed image at all.
The Reality of
Every spirit possesses this potential, as the three bodies are fundamentally one, just as they are for all Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, patriarchs, and venerable masters. Why then do they leave behind images or statues? It is because beings are still attached to forms. By following these forms in their practice, the heart has something to rely upon. Know that every form is a manifestation of this truth. In the past, Shakyamuni Buddha appeared to respond to the needs of the Saha world. He manifested his Transformation Body. Where is his Reward Body? It resides in his own Buddha-land, which is crystal clear and pure. The Dharma Body has no form, yet it exists everywhere, throughout the entire Dharma realm of emptiness. You and I are one within this space.
There is nothing to be troubled by. When we manifest to save beings, there are no obstacles that can truly hinder us. You must move forward with a direct and unwavering heart. In the human world, there are countless states of existence, and the length of one's life is determined by the one has received. Even among animals, the cycle of suffering continues, where flesh is cut and lives are taken. This is the reality of the world—a cycle of mutual consumption driven by karmic retribution. If we meet again in another life, we might be the ones suffering this same fate. This is the truth of samsara, repeating itself day after day, hour after hour. Year after year, through countless calamities, these scenes are played out over and over again. With such scenes of blood and flesh, how can one ever become truly pure?
The Path to True Liberation
Purity is difficult to attain, and once attained, it must be maintained. To maintain it, one requires constant, unwavering effort. Only after persistent practice will you develop the power to succeed. This power breaks through the chains of impermanence. Only then can you truly escape the ocean of karmic suffering and the agony of birth and death. Only then can you reach the other shore—your ultimate destination, the of Ultimate Bliss. This world is integrated with all other worlds, extending infinitely throughout the universe.
