This is a record of an interview with Lay Practitioner Chen Baiyuwei, who sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. She now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon her transition and the miraculous reunion with her family members in the Pure Land. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Fajing, on November 12, 2021.

Lay Practitioner Chen Baiyuwei speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Chen Baiyuwei. For the longest time, I was incredibly hesitant about whether or not I should leave the world of the living. My husband had already decided it was time to go, and after giving it much thought, I decided that I would follow him. My daughter-in-law, who has always been so obedient and kind, nodded in agreement as well.

Today, the three of us—my husband, my daughter-in-law, and I—have all been guided by Practitioner Su to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. My heart is overflowing with gratitude. I have spent so much time prostrating before the Buddha, offering my deepest thanks. My husband was weeping with , and my daughter-in-law was moved beyond words. Thank you, Practitioner Su, for leading our entire family to this beautiful place. Now, we are all here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, smiling and chanting Namo Amituofo together. I am so grateful! Truly, I am so grateful!"

A Miraculous Reunion in the Pure Land

"My son, Xiangbin, is such an intelligent and filial man. He understood that he needed to help his parents and his wife receive Chao Du, and it is only because of his efforts that we had the opportunity to be saved by Practitioner Su today. We had been separated for such a long time. When we were first rescued and suddenly saw one another again, it felt as though we were speechless, overwhelmed by the sheer emotion of the moment. We didn't need to say much to each other after that; we simply spent our time listening to the and learning to chant Namo Amituofo.

While we were in the Dharma-Nature Land, we all sat upon our own lotus seats. It was so incredibly comfortable there—so quiet, and my heart felt completely at peace. It was nothing like the turbulent, up-and-down life we lived in the human world. Listening to Practitioner Su give Dharma talks made us feel so joyful. I had never heard such profound teachings before in my life. I found myself nodding along, again and again, in complete agreement. It is such a pity—if only I had been able to hear Practitioner Su’s Dharma talks while I was still alive, I would have understood the importance of letting go. I would not have spent my life constantly worrying about the world and obsessing over my family members."

A Mother's Final Advice to Her Son

"Xiangbin, my son, your mother finally understands what '' truly mean. It is this very concept of 'karmic conditions' that bound our family together, allowing us to be a family in this lifetime. I worked so hard to bring you into this world, and now, you have repaid that kindness by leading your father and mother back to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, ensuring that we will never have to suffer again. This is the greatest act of filial piety you could ever show us. We are all so deeply moved by your devotion. Thank you, my son.

However, I look at you now and I see that you, too, have grown old. You have lived a long life, and the greatest treasure you have ever found is encountering the Buddha. The Buddha has saved our entire family. My greatest wish is for all of you to eventually come here to the Western Land. If our whole family could be reunited here, that would be the greatest blessing for the Chen family. But I know that I cannot force these things; I must understand the importance of following karmic conditions and letting go of attachments. Please, do not worry about us. I am doing very well here, and so are your father and Jiaping. Just remember to keep chanting Namo Amituofo, work on changing your personality traits, and keep everything else in life simple. Remember, the cycle of birth and death is the only truly important matter! I hope to see all of you here in the Western Land one day.

Namo Amituofo."

Chen Baiyuwei, with the utmost sincerity, bows in gratitude.
