A Father's Message from the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss
An Interview with the Spirit of Lay Practitioner Huang Kongguang
Lay Practitioner Huang Kongguang, the father of Lay Practitioner Huang Xiufang, passed away and found himself in a state of confusion and darkness. Seeking deliverance, his daughter turned to the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre. Through the compassionate guidance of Practitioner Su, he was successfully saved and attained rebirth in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This interview was recorded by Chief Writer Shi Faxin on November 19, 2021, at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre.
Lay Practitioner Huang Kongguang speaks:
"Xiufang, my dear daughter, it is your father. Ever since I passed away, I have been trapped in a place that was perpetually grey and dim. I did not know how I could ever see the sunlight again. Even though I had died, my heart remained tethered to our family. But in truth, worrying about you was of no use. I could not even help myself, so how could I possibly assist you when you faced your own difficulties?"
The Sudden Shift to Light
"I remember that day clearly. My heart was still heavy, burdened by the weight of my attachments, when suddenly a voice called out my name: 'Huang Kongguang.' In an instant, I was swept away and brought into a world of brilliant, radiant light. It was so intense that, for a moment, I could not even open my eyes.
It took me some time to adjust to such a profound change. Only then did I gradually calm down enough to listen to the talks given by Practitioner Su. It was only after listening to these teachings that I finally understood: this physical body is merely an illusion. The true pursuit of my spirit should have been directed toward where I was meant to go all along."
A Daughter's Filial Piety
"Xiufang, I know that your life has not been easy. Yet, you still found the resolve to arrange for the for both your mother and me. You are truly a filial and virtuous child! My heart aches knowing how much you have suffered. Even after arriving in the Dharma-Nature Land, I continued to watch over you. Seeing your life and the hardships you have endured, my heart felt such profound sorrow. However, after listening to the Dharma, I now understand that this is the working of the laws of and cause and effect.
Xiufang, you must study the Buddha's teachings earnestly to change your destiny. Your destiny is held within your own hands. Now, you must settle your heart and follow the footsteps of the Buddha. Only by truly letting go of the bitterness of the past can you begin a new life and live as a different person. You have already suffered enough. I hope that your children will not have to endure the same, so you must pull yourself together and guide them toward a positive path; otherwise, they will suffer in the future as well!"
The Beauty of the Western Land
"Your mother and I have both reached the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss! This world is truly magnificent. Everyone here is smiling, and everyone’s heart is open and bright. There is none of the suffering that exists in the world of men. Thank you for ensuring that your mother and I no longer have to suffer.
Now, you must take good care of yourself and find the strength to walk out of the dilemmas in your life. Be grateful to those who have helped you along the way. Carry that gratitude with you to live a meaningful life, and become someone who is capable of helping yourself."
from the Dream
"Xiufang, I know you can do it. Your mother and I both hope to see you happy again. Please, listen carefully to the Dharma talks by Practitioner Su and gain a new understanding of life. You must realise that life is but a dream. Wake up from this dream, do not cling to the roles you play in this life, and become a pure disciple of the Buddha once more. This is what I have realised while listening to Practitioner Su's teachings in the Dharma-Nature Land, and it is my earnest advice to my daughter.
We were saved through the help of Practitioner Su. Please express our deepest gratitude to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, to Practitioner Su, and to all the Venerables and lay practitioners there. Xiufang, your mother and I are watching over you from the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, and we are waiting for you.
