A Journey from Darkness to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss

This interview was recorded on October 1, 2021, at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. It features the spirit of Lay Practitioner Lu Qizhu, the father of the former husband of Lay Practitioner He Huiping. Having sought deliverance through the compassionate efforts of the Centre, he shares his profound realisation regarding the impermanence of life and his deep gratitude for the path to liberation.

Lay Practitioner Lu Qizhu speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Lu Qizhu. I am filled with such deep emotion as I reflect upon the final moments of my life; it was only then that I realised that, in the end, one cannot take a single thing from this world. Throughout my entire life, I worked so hard, striving for everything I thought mattered, yet in the end, it was all for nothing—it was all just an empty dream. If I had not been brought here to this place, I would still be lost in the dark. I would still be trapped in a cold, dark corner, completely unaware of where my spirit had wandered. I would still be locked within my own limited thoughts and perceptions, never realising that I was actually suffering in the depths of samsara!

A Debt of Gratitude and Filial Piety

Huiping, thank you so much for helping me receive Chao Du. In my heart, you are just like my own child. Although our Causal Conditions in this life were not long, I, as your father, truly cherish this bond. I am deeply grateful for how you cared for our family; your sincerity has touched me deeply. I never imagined that you would be willing to spend your own money to help me receive deliverance. I know your own life has not been easy, and yet you still possessed such a heart of filial piety. I am truly, deeply grateful to you, my child!

From the Body of a Frog to the Light of the Pure Land

It was only after I was released from the body of a frog that my spirit finally saw the light again. Only then did I begin to remember the many things from our past—that in previous lives, you were my daughter, and our connection is indeed very deep. Thank you for bringing me here. The Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia is truly a magnificent place. I have received so much help here, and my spirit has finally attained liberation.

A Final Message of Hope

I am so happy now. I have reached the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This place is a true Pure Land. I feel so pure and filled with Dharma joy. Being able to listen to the teachings of Practitioner Su has awakened my heart to so many truths. Huiping, I must also apologise for the things I did to you in the past. From this day forward, I hope you will follow the practice at this Centre with all your heart. This place can truly help you, and this is the final message I wish to leave for you. I want you to be well. Please, continue to chant Namo Amituofo and dedicate yourself to your practice. I will be waiting for you in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss.
