A Journey Home to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss

This is a record of an interview with the spirit of Lay Practitioner Guo Jingyi, the grandmother of Lay Practitioner Zhou Bowen, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. She now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon her transition from the ghost realm to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxi, on August 25, 2023.

Lay Practitioner Guo Jingyi speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am so incredibly happy. Today, I have finally been able to depart for the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This place is profoundly tranquil, and it is so beautiful beyond words. I am deeply grateful for everything I have experienced in my life up until this moment. I, Guo Jingyi, offer my most sincere and humble gratitude to Namo Amituofo, and I am eternally thankful for the boundless compassion of Practitioner Su.

Reflections from the Ghost Realm

My dear children, I am your family. For these past days, I have been living within the ghost realm. Although I did not suffer any extreme hardships there, I spent all that time constantly thinking of you. I have longed to tell you all about how I have been faring.

I am so grateful that I have been granted this opportunity to speak with you all today. Even though you cannot see me, I still wish to pour out the words that have been held within my heart. I do not regret my life. As I have reached this point, there are so many things that I have finally been able to let go of. I never imagined that letting go of my attachments could feel so incredibly free and light.

The Clarity of Awakening

I have seen every one of my past lives. So many different scenes and memories flooded my mind, causing me to feel quite disoriented for a time; I could not tell north from south. It took me some time to regain my clarity. Only now do I finally understand that these experiences are what we call the cycle of rebirth, or samsara. I have been many different people across countless lifetimes, and I have even been an animal. Thankfully, I have finally been able to wake up from that long slumber.

After so many births and deaths, I realise that our pasts have never truly disappeared. They were all just preparations for this heart of mine to finally return to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss.

A Promise of Reunion

For so many years, I have been so happy to have had my family, and to have lived our lives together in happiness. But in the end, everyone must eventually depart. Although it is difficult to part, and there is a sense of reluctance, there is no way to avoid this day when it arrives.

I am filled with such joy today because I have arrived at the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. I know that in the future, I will be able to see you all again in this very place. I hope that all of you will practise diligently, so that one day, we shall meet again here in this pure and blissful land.
