This is a record of an interview with Li Yongtian, who sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his life in the human realm. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxi, on July 23, 2021.

Li Yongtian speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Li Yongtian. I am absolutely overjoyed—truly, words cannot express how happy I am—to see so many people preparing for rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. I have been longing to go there myself. Today, I woke up very early to prepare. When Practitioner Su called my name, he helped me up with such profound . I saw Namo Amituofo standing before me, looking at me with such infinite kindness. I was so moved that I burst into tears. How could this be? I cannot even describe the feeling; it was as if my entire being was filled with a light I had never known before."

The of the Western Pure Land

"I looked around and saw my eldest brother and my third brother, both smiling as they came to greet me. I also saw many relatives who had passed away long ago; everyone had come to see me. I was truly so happy. It turns out that everyone has gone to such a wonderful place. My heart feels so warm, so incredibly joyful. It is a peace that I never experienced in all my years on earth.

Throughout my life, I was not a man of great learning, nor did I possess much wisdom. After I grew up and married, my life was entirely dedicated to working hard to provide for my family. People often say that once you have a wife and children, you must carry the weight of the entire household on your shoulders. No matter how difficult things became, I never gave up. My goal was simple: I just wanted to take good care of my home. My wife was a remarkable woman; she managed our household so well that I could focus entirely on working outside to earn a living. Life in the past was genuinely very hard, but I was diligent and frugal. Every cent I earned was for the sake of giving my family a better life."

A Lifetime of Simple Devotion

"In this lifetime, my journey was nothing extraordinary. I lived the life of an ordinary person, honestly and steadily. I never did anything with a malicious heart; all I ever asked for was a calm and smooth life. Watching my children and grandchildren grow up generation after generation was my greatest pride. Every child has their own destiny and their own . I cared deeply for all my descendants, and I sincerely hoped that they would grow up well and stay on the right path. I did not ask for great wealth or high status; I only wished for them to live good, ordinary lives.

Now that I have departed, I never expected to leave at this particular time. In my heart, I always knew that my life was nearing its end. I was well aware that my health had not been good for a long time, and I had come to terms with that reality."

Gratitude for a Second Chance

"I am so deeply grateful that as soon as I passed away, I was brought to this place. Because of this, I did not have to suffer much at all. Ah Feng—Li Xiufeng—was my noble person in this life. During the most difficult times of my life, she was the one who helped me, giving me work so I could earn money to support my family. I have always been so thankful to her. Although there were misunderstandings about her from others, in my heart, I always trusted her. I knew her character; she was never a person of loose morals. My life ended, and in the final moments, it was Ah Feng who helped me receive Chao Du, which gave me the chance to come here—to this bodhimanda of Namo Amituofo.

I am so grateful to Practitioner Su for his immense compassion. Seeing how Practitioner Su helps so many people, my heart is truly moved. I never knew that there was someone in this world who possessed such incredible skills. I admire him from the bottom of my heart. Today is the day of my rebirth. This world no longer has any connection to me. Now that this body has passed away, I have no way to speak to my relatives, and I feel a deep sense of regret at how fragile human life is. Fortunately, there is this place that saved me and allowed me to leave these final words."

A Final Message to My Loved Ones

"I am so grateful to my wife. We had the karmic affinity to be husband and wife in this life. Now that my journey has reached its end, I hope she will not be too sad. To my children and grandchildren, I am so happy to see that you have all grown up so well. Now that my great-grandchildren have also been born, my life is completely fulfilled. I hope that everyone will live well in the future. I am so glad that we could be a family in this lifetime. Do not worry about me; I am doing very well here. I will always be watching over all of you from here, and one day, we will all be reunited in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.

Thank you, Buddha. Namo Amituofo.

Li Yongtian"
