A Son's Final Apology and Farewell

This is a record of an interview with He Yaojian, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his transition from the cycle of rebirth to the Buddha's light. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxin, on January 7, 2022.

Lay Practitioner He Yaojian speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. The Causal Conditions that brought me here are truly extraordinary. Mother, I am so sorry. Your son has failed you. When I was led from the hells to the Western Dharma-Nature Land, I could feel the profound heartache my family suffered because of my departure. I kneel before you now, an unfilial son, to beg for your forgiveness. Please know that your son has finally arrived in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss; I am here with Namo Amituofo now.

The Weight of Regret

It breaks my heart that I left you all so early. I feel such deep remorse for having been born only to cause you such grief and sorrow. I am truly sorry. While I was in the Western Dharma-Nature Land listening to Practitioner Su give Dharma talks, I knelt before Namo Amituofo and repented. I repented for every act of unfilial behaviour I committed during my life. I should never have spoken back to you, and I failed to cherish the life you gave me. I regret it all so deeply.

Mother, please forgive your son. I hope you can let go of your regrets now. I am doing very well—better than I have ever been in my life.

From Darkness to Deliverance

The moment I died, I was plunged into a terrifying darkness. I was so afraid. I called out for all of you, hoping someone would come to help me, but I saw no one. I had to endure that loneliness and fear all by myself. I do not know how much time passed before I was brought before the King of Hell for judgment and cast into the hells to suffer. Even now, when I recall those scenes, I am filled with terror. Thankfully, all that suffering is behind me now.

A Message of Peace

Mother, I can see you now. I hope you can open your heart and stop dwelling on the past. I want you to live a life even better than before. I am so grateful to the Buddha and to Practitioner Su for saving me, and I pray that the Buddha may bring peace and happiness to my entire family.

Right now, I am wearing the clothes I love, and I have been travelling throughout the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. In the future, I will diligently follow the Buddha and learn. I hope that you, Mother, and everyone else are doing well. I am waving to you with a smile. I am so grateful for the Causal Conditions that allowed us to be family in this lifetime.
