The Boundless Horizon of the Heart

On the fifteenth day of July in the year 2017, the disciple Shi Faxi respectfully bowed and invited the Buddha to provide his compassionate guidance. Namo Amituofo offered these profound teachings on the nature of existence.

Imagine the blue sea meeting the blue sky, a single line stretching across the horizon, vast and boundless. What do you see on the other shore? Before you see with your eyes, you must see with your heart. When the heart truly sees, wisdom manifests. When we speak of the heart as being immeasurable, it is because this immeasurable heart has the power to save all beings.

The Bumpy Path of Practice

Within your practice, you must learn to regulate your conduct. The road of life is often bumpy and uneven, yet you must remain firmly on the right path. How often do you find yourself taking detours? When will you return to the straight path? How can you truly walk the right way if your heart is not yet upright? The surface of the road is filled with stones of all kinds—sharp, dull, and round. These stones are like the different types of people you encounter in this world.

All beings, whether they are civilians or practitioners, are part of one great family. The various appearances and states of being you observe are simply the manifestations of what humans possess. How you walk your path depends entirely on the language of your heart. Your transformation begins within, and the essence of the lies at the very foundation of your being. All achievements in your practice arise from your actions, and through these actions, you cultivate your habits.

The Illusion of Form

When you reach the point where you understand the nature of your actions, you will realise that, in the end, there is nothing to be attached to. Originally, everything is empty. By understanding this emptiness completely, you attain a state of total clarity. The sea and the sky may appear to be separate, but they are one body; there is no real difference between them. The differences you perceive are merely due to varying Causal Conditions, which manifest in different forms and colours. However, your original nature remains unchanged; there is no difference between you and me.

The Cycle of Conditions

We are born into this world with karmic affinities, and because of these affinities, we are born into different forms. Yet, in our true nature, there is no distinction. Whether it is the skin of an animal or the form of a human, all are merely the result of Causal Conditions. All things in the universe arise from these conditions, and all things cease when these conditions dissipate. When conditions arise, life begins; when conditions cease, life as you know it ends.

  • The Nature of Change: Conditions are not permanent; they are subject to the laws of and cause and effect
  • .The Endless Cycle: Because conditions are intertwined with karma, the cycle of rebirth
  • continues without end.The Difficulty of Clarity: It is difficult to untangle these complex threads of existence on your own.

Transcending the Cycle

How can one find true clarity and liberation? Only through —the path of Enlightenment. By transcending the three realms of existence, you can return to the state of emptiness. When you step out of the entanglement of conditions, you reach a state of non-arising. Only after you realise this state of non-arising can you truly understand the nature of life. If the people of this world understood the truth of these conditions, would they not wish to be liberated? If you can make a vow to transcend these conditions, you will focus your efforts on saving all beings who are still trapped within them.

The Ultimate Truth

The Buddha’s teachings on conditions are meant to help you see that conditions are merely conditions. When the Dharma meets your vows, every place becomes a place of Dharma affinity. You will no longer be trapped by the dust of the mundane world; instead, you will transform your into a powerful vow. The ultimate Dharma lies in understanding your own heart. By perfecting your heart and seeing your true nature, you will achieve . This message was recorded by the Buddha's disciple, Shi Faxi.
