From the Darkness of Samsara to the Western Pure Land

Lay Practitioner Li Fei, the brother of Lay Practitioner Li Fang, sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre following his untimely passing. Through the compassionate intervention of Practitioner Su, he was successfully guided to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, where he now resides. This testimony was recorded by Chief Writer Shi Fajing on June 23, 2023.

Lay Practitioner Li Fei speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I, your disciple Li Fei, have finally arrived in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. I am kneeling here, bowing my head to the ground, my face streaming with tears. I am filled with such profound gratitude to our compassionate father, Namo Amituofo, and to Practitioner Su. It is only through their grace that a person as heavy with sin as I am could ever return to my true home in the West. Namo Amituofo.

I want to thank my younger sister for overcoming every obstacle to arrange for my deliverance. It is only because of her that I have this precious opportunity to kneel before the Buddha today. Before Practitioner Su called out my name, I was still trapped in the dark, chaotic space of my car accident. To be honest, I did not even know what I was doing. I was completely lost, but the one thing I could feel—the one thing that was constant—was the overwhelming intensity of my suffering.

The Call of Deliverance

When Practitioner Su called out my name, I heard it, but I was not yet fully awake. I did not know who was calling me; I had even begun to forget my own name. There were so many karmic creditors surrounding me, constantly interfering and pulling at me. Then, a brilliant golden light appeared. My eyes were blurred and dim, but I saw it. I tried to stand up and walk toward that golden light, but my karmic creditors pulled me back, refusing to let me go. Practitioner Su called out my name again, this time with great power. I knew in my heart that this was the voice that could save me. Even though my legs felt heavy and the path was difficult, I summoned every ounce of strength to push forward. That is how I finally escaped that dark space, reached Practitioner Su, and was seated upon a lotus seat in the pure Western Land of Dharma Nature.

Awakening to the Laws of Karma

I sat on that lotus seat for quite some time before I was fully conscious. Every day, I listened to the Buddha-name and listened to Practitioner Su giving Dharma talks. Only then did I slowly begin to wake up. Not long after, I saw the karma I had created in my past lives. I saw it with my own eyes, and I was so overcome with sorrow that I wept continuously. I cried for a long time, my heart filled with deep repentance. It was only then that I truly understood that everything I had experienced was governed by the laws of karma and cause and effect.

No matter how much suffering I endured in this life, it was all deserved. I had harmed so many people. Especially in that lifetime when I was a bandit—the blade in my hand severed the limbs of so many, causing countless families to be broken and destroyed. The way I left the human world in this life, through the retribution of my karmic creditors, was actually getting off lightly. I am filled with such deep repentance. I weep as I beg them to forgive me—please, I beg you, forgive me.

A Message of Hope and Reunion

Now that I have attained liberation, I hope that my karmic creditors and all beings connected to me can also attain liberation. Throughout today's deliverance, I have been constantly counseling my karmic creditors, hoping they will seize this opportunity to follow the Buddha and leave this place of suffering. Only when they are also saved can my heart truly be at peace.

I am so grateful to Practitioner Su for helping me in this way, and I am also grateful to my wonderful sister. I am so happy that she has come to know Practitioner Su. I can feel that her situation is much better now, and her heart is much more peaceful. She must continue to work hard, to let go of her attachments even more, so that she will not have to suffer.

The people I feel most sorry for are my parents. I caused them the pain of the 'white-haired person sending off the black-haired person.' I came into this life to repay my debts, yet I only caused my parents to worry and grieve for me. I truly am an unfilial son. I want to tell my parents: your son is doing very well now. I am already in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, so please do not worry about me anymore! I have a fresh start now, and I am here to follow Namo Amituofo diligently. This place is so pure, so joyful, and so comfortable—it is completely different from the human world. I hope that you will all come here one day. You must chant the Buddha's name. Do not dwell on the past; the past can never be recovered. You must only move forward, follow the Buddha, and bring our whole family back to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss to be reunited. I am here, practising diligently, waiting for you all.
