Reunited in the Western Land: The Grandfather of Peng Hong

This interview was recorded on July 13, 2024, by Chief Writer Shi Faxin. The grandfather of Peng Hong, having sought deliverance through the compassionate efforts of Practitioner Su, now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, where he reflects on his journey from the cycle of rebirth to the peace of the Buddha-land.

The Grandfather of Peng Hong speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am the grandfather of Peng Hong. I wish to express my deepest gratitude to Practitioner Su. Truly, I am so grateful. It was the Chao Du skills of Practitioner Su that allowed our entire family to be reunited in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Now that I have arrived in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, I see the family members who arrived before me; they all already possess the Buddha-flavour—that serene, enlightened quality of the Buddha. I am so incredibly happy for them.

The Truth Behind the Dream

Since returning to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, I have realised that every spirit is independent, yet we are all one. We have all returned to being disciples of the Buddha, following Namo Amituofo in our practice. The karmic connections of the world have come to an end. Only after escaping the cycle of rebirth and returning to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss did I realise that my past life was nothing more than one dream after another. When the dream ends, when the cycle of rebirth concludes, no one remembers anyone else. It turns out that this is the true reality of existence.

The Weight of Attachment

Upon arriving at this Buddha-land, I have learned so much, and my spirit is fundamentally different from what it once was. I can now clearly perceive the stubbornness and attachments that defined my soul. It is strange to say, but the power of that tight grip I held on my past was so intense. Even though I no longer possessed a physical body, those personality traits and fixations remained. It did not take long for me to realise that these very attachments were the reason I had been trapped in the cycle of rebirth over and over again. Once I saw these clearly, I learned to strive to let them go.

Repentance and the Warmth of Buddha-light

The clear, brilliant Buddha-light allowed me to see the karmic creditors who were still waiting for me in the space between realms. There were so many debts I had yet to repay, and I had no idea how to settle them. The images of how I had harmed others in the past were so vivid and clear. I could not help but sincerely kneel before the Buddha to repent, feeling lost as to what I could possibly do to make amends. The Buddha-light shone upon me, feeling so warm and comforting, as if it were telling me, 'Let it go!' I am so grateful for the Buddha's compassion toward me; the heavy clouds that had been pressing down upon my head seemed to simply dissipate in that light.

A New Vow

Seeing the Buddha, so vast and magnificent, right before my eyes, I made a vow to follow Him. I will let go of everything from the past and follow the Buddha to learn diligently, so that in the future, I may repay my karmic creditors. I once had a name in the world, but that is of no importance to me now. The play has finished, and I have stepped off the stage. Now, the most important thing before me is to follow the Buddha with all my heart.

A Message to Descendants

I am so grateful that my descendants still remembered me and helped me receive Chao Du. To my kind-hearted children, you must make a vow to follow the Buddha and seek rebirth in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss in this very lifetime. Do not be deceived by this physical body any longer. Chant Namo Amituofo diligently and wait for the day the Buddha comes to lead you home. You must keep your faith firm and unwavering.

I am grateful for everything.
