The Illusory Nature of the World

The space we inhabit is like a dream; the affairs of this world are mere illusions. The mundane world is ignorant, and emotions exist of their own accord. The world hears my voice; through this sound, I seek out those who know suffering. I, Avalokiteshvara, am present in this world; in every household, I am known.

Though I have come with a firm resolve, my vow is to save all beings. Yet I also hold a deep hope: that you, my children, will truly achieve Awakening. Though I offer my rescue, it is difficult to avoid the cycle of birth and death. Though I offer my salvation, it is difficult to avoid the suffering of the heart. You know the path, yet you have not truly embarked upon it. You understand the worldly heart, but you have not yet understood the true meaning of the world.

The Compassionate Vow of Avalokiteshvara

The world is filled with beings who need saving, yet no one truly understands the bitterness of this existence. To teach the world, the power of purity is the most important factor. The path of the world is known, yet those who truly practise it are few. You must be upright and firm; only by changing your heart can you find true strength.

Do not let your life pass in vain, drifting through the dust of the world. You know the hardship of this life; therefore, you must change your heart and your vows. Recognise that this body is empty and false. Understand the nature of purity. Even if it is difficult to sever your karmic ties, you must perform good deeds and vow to transform your life. Within your true nature lies a great ambition. Use it to transform your karmic fruits. Do not let worldly thoughts pull you back into the darkness. Only by manifesting the path and transforming your thoughts can you walk the way. Do not let your karma weigh you down; open your heart and find peace.

The Path to True Awakening

My manifestation is the manifestation of the vow of Namo Amituofo. The pure assembly of the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss always follows me. Let go of worldly attachments, just as I have shown you. If you can understand the vastness of the universe, you can begin the work of saving others.

True freedom and joy are different from the dark paths of the world. Making a vow is important, and purifying yourself before you act is essential. Wherever Avalokiteshvara is, there is the Pure Land of Namo Amituofo. I invite all of you to join me in this pure vision. When I see what happens in this world, I feel deep sorrow. If the worldly heart has no desire for the truth, how can this world be anything but suffering? If you can hear these words, you must grasp this opportunity. Understand clearly and truly learn the path.

Returning to the Western Pure Land

Do not seek to return to this world. Seek only to go to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This life is but a fleeting moment; do not linger here any longer. I counsel all my children to return to your original source. Let your Buddha-nature shine with its inherent light. Your arrival here is due to the beginning of this connection. If you think of your teacher, think of the name of Namo Amituofo.

Here at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, we manifest the Dharma. You must align your heart with this learning and come again to manifest these actions. Whether you speak of the true path or a false one, you must renew your vows and seek true knowledge. Avalokiteshvara manifests to hear the sounds of suffering, but more importantly, I wish for you to move toward the other shore and turn away from suffering. Do not come back to this world. Do not keep a worldly heart. The sounds of the world are full of suffering; only the ultimate truth is what matters. True living is to meet in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. I will help guide you, and Namo Amituofo will lead you there. Namo Amituofo. All of you must follow. Come again to the Dharma assembly. Let us meet in the right path.
