The Deliverance of Ma Guicai to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss

This is a record of an interview with Ma Guicai, the elder sister of Lay Practitioner Ma Zhixin, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. She now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon her transition from the cycle of rebirth to liberation. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Fajing, on February 14, 2025.

Ma Guicai speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Ma Guicai. Gratitude, gratitude, and endless gratitude—I truly do not know how to ever repay the kindness of the Buddha. My heart is overflowing with thankfulness. I am so deeply grateful to Practitioner Su for taking me, this suffering spirit of Ma Guicai, and guiding me to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Because of this, I have finally been able to break free from the cycle of rebirth and no longer have to endure such agonising suffering.

I am truly here, in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Even now, I find it hard to believe. The majestic, beautiful scenery before my eyes moves my heart so deeply, yet it brings me such profound peace. It is as if there is a steady, calming force here that allows my heart to settle—it is so flat, so still, and so incredibly comfortable. This is a feeling I never once experienced while I was alive. I love it so much. It feels as though there are no worries at all—truly, there is nothing to worry about. There is only the chanting of Namo Amituofo, and it is such a joyful, blissful experience to chant."

The Miracle of Deliverance

"In this lifetime, I did not study the Dharma, and I did not have much in the way of blessings. However, perhaps due to the residual blessings from my past lives, or perhaps because of the small acts of kindness I performed for others during my time on earth, I was given this precious opportunity to be rescued by Practitioner Su. It must also be the karmic connection I shared with my younger brother. I am so incredibly grateful to him and his family for their willingness to save my spirit, which had been suffering every single day.

Here, in the Western Land of Dharma Nature at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, I am purified every single day by the illumination of the Buddha’s light. At the very beginning, my mind was a bit clouded and unclear, but as time passed, I seemed to wake up more and more. I began to understand exactly what had happened to me. I saw the painful, wretched state I was in before I passed away, and I could hardly bear to look at it. At that time, the most painful thing was that I had no idea where my future lay. My spirit did not want to continue living that kind of life, but my physical body was completely beyond my control."

Facing the Truth of Karma

"Seeing my own state, and witnessing the karma I had created in the past, I could not bear to look any longer. I realised then that everything was a result of the laws of karma and cause and effect. When the force of karma arrives, it is impossible to block; you are completely controlled by it, living your life at the mercy of your karmic creditors. I feel such deep regret. I have wept many times, realising how much karma I had created in the past. So many people were unwilling to let me go, and that is why they made me suffer in such a way, ultimately demanding my life. I have kowtowed to them, begging for their forgiveness, and I have pleaded with them to let go of the past and follow the Buddha immediately.

I want to say to all my relatives who are still in the world: You must study the Dharma, you must chant Namo Amituofo, and you must work hard to change your personality traits. Please, do not wait until your karmic creditors come looking for you, as I did. By then, it will be far too late.

In closing, I simply want to say: thank you. Namo Amituofo."
