This is a record of an interview with Huang Que, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. She now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon her transition and her gratitude for the path of practice. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxi, on August 13, 2021.
Bodhisattva Huang Que speaks:
". When I was alive in the world, I was never very good with words. Now, standing here, I find myself at a loss for how to begin expressing what is in my heart.
The Western Land of Ultimate Bliss is truly magnificent—it is so beautiful that there is no place in the world that could ever compare to it. I am filled with such to have arrived in this place! When I was first guided to the Western Land of Nature, I must admit I felt quite unaccustomed to it all. I had never experienced a place so pure and serene. Seeing everyone here chanting the Buddha's name with such profound sincerity made me feel quite different from them at first. However, I was gradually influenced by the environment, and I, too, grew to love the practice of chanting the Buddha's name."
"Listening to Practitioner Su deliver Dharma talks was a transformative experience for me. It was the first time in my life that I had ever sat down so earnestly to listen to the truth of the Dharma. It felt truly extraordinary. Every word Practitioner Su spoke seemed to open my heart, allowing me to absorb so much wisdom and undergo a deep internal change.
Looking back on my life, I lament that I did not accomplish much of note. Now, my only hope is for my children, my grandchildren, and especially my granddaughter, that they may all walk this path of practice well. Life is neither short nor long, but it is truly something that must be cherished. Having walked the path of a lifetime, I now realise how much I missed out on. I am so fortunate that, in the end, I was able to come here."
"I am deeply grateful to my granddaughter. She knew to find this place and helped guide me here. Only here have I truly been freed from suffering. This is truly a Pure Land; every single day, we are bathed in the brilliant Buddha’s light. Now that I see my granddaughter has become a Venerable, I feel an immense sense of pride as her grandmother. My heart is filled with such joy! I encourage her to continue working hard, to follow Practitioner Su and the many other Venerables here, and to learn diligently while refining her character. If the opportunity arises, she should bring her mother here to practise as well, for this is truly a wonderful place.
My life has now reached its completion, and I hope that one day, we may all be reunited here. This world is filled with endless turmoil and confusion; it was only upon arriving here that I felt true purity for the first time. You must truly cherish this opportunity!
Namo Amituofo."
