This is a record of an interview with Lun Binggao, the husband of Lay Practitioner Hu Guilian, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his transition and his message to his family. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxin, on April 12, 2024.
Lun Binggao speaks:
". At long last, I have finally opened my heart. I am truly willing to let go of everything, and my heart is no longer gripped by the heavy attachments that once held me fast. My spirit beheld the radiant presence of the Buddha, and I began to chant the sacred Buddha-name, 'Namo Amituofo,' with all my might. In the blink of an eye—time moves so differently here—I found myself in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. I could not ascend on my own; it was Practitioner Su who reached out and guided me upward. For this, I am filled with profound gratitude toward Practitioner Su, and I am deeply thankful for the -Nature Land space here at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre."
"During this time, my spirit has become clearer and clearer. I have listened to many profound truths that I never knew during my time in the human world. Having come to truly recognise the Buddha, I am filled with a deep sense of gratitude.
I am acutely aware that I still carry the weight of much , and these are debts that I must work diligently to repay in the future. Therefore, I am seizing this precious opportunity to follow the Buddha and learn with all my heart. As for the experiences of my past life, I am slowly, piece by piece, letting them go."
"Having passed through the threshold of life and death, the process has been an incredibly intense and transformative experience for me. Back then, I did not understand the vital importance of clinging to the Buddha-name. I did not realise that a single, sincere recitation of 'Namo Amituofo' could have illuminated my path. That is why I remained trapped for so long in that grey, dim, and desolate underworld.
Now that I understand these truths, I wish to convey them to my family. In the human world, we were such a close-knit family. Although I have now departed and we no longer have the chance to be together in the same space, I want to share these experiences with you. I hope you will come to understand the vital importance of chanting Namo Amituofo, and I truly hope that you will not have to endure the same painful death that I experienced."
"Today, being able to comprehend these things, I am so grateful to the Buddha, to Practitioner Su, and to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. I am also deeply grateful to my wife. To be able to be joined with you as husband and wife was a blessing, and if there were times when I caused you to feel wronged or aggrieved, I offer you my sincerest apologies. Now that I have reached the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss and have become a Buddha, I believe that you, too, will be happy for me.
You are getting on in years now, so please, do not let your mind be troubled by too many things. Following the Buddha, keeping the Buddha in your heart, and chanting Namo Amituofo—these are the most important things. Whatever needs to be let go, please let it go. Listen to my words, and I look forward to the day we meet again in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss."
"Namo Amituofo."
