This is a record of an interview with the demon known as Mo Ba Tian, who sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Land of Nature and has been given the Dharma name Shi Ande. This testimony was recorded by the chief writer, Shi Fajing, on July 17, 2023.
Shi Ande (formerly Mo Ba Tian) speaks:
". As time passes year after year on Earth, everyone welcomes the arrival of the New Year with hope, yet no one realises the looming disasters that are also approaching. My branch of demons has been stationed on Earth for a very long time—at least a thousand years. This millennium has been more than enough for us to take root, expand our influence, and seize territory that we consider our own exclusive demon domain.
Although humans are all of the same species and share similar biological characteristics, they still experience intense competition, conflict, discrimination, and opposition due to their differences in race, nation, and ideology. Humans are like this, and naturally, the Demon Realm is exactly the same. You might think that we demons are perfectly united in our malice, but while we do have a sense of cohesion when we share a common goal, we are divided into many different factions. We often become bitter enemies, opposing and attacking one another to seize territory or control over subjects. It is a constant, brutal struggle for dominance.
The Might of the Demon Stronghold
After thousands of years of struggle, our faction captured a significant space on Earth. This space is our 'demon stronghold,' where all the descendants of our demon clan, the Mo Ba tribe, are gathered. Our influence is immense. Just by looking at the character 'Ba' (霸, meaning hegemon or tyrant) in our name, you can understand how formidable our presence is. Other demon factions cannot easily attack us; they are often wounded by our overwhelming aura of arrogance before they even strike. We are the masters of our domain.
However, we did not wish to see the chaos within the Demon Realm and once considered unifying it under our banner. Yet, there are many other powerful demon clans, each with their own strongholds in different locations and dimensions. These powerful groups disagreed and refused to be unified; everyone wanted to be the master and possess more. When we proposed 'unification,' we were immediately rejected and even threatened with total opposition and attack from all other demon clans. Naturally, we abandoned that idea. We had more important things to do—strengthening our own power so we could have a voice in the Demon Realm. We chose to focus on our own growth rather than risking a war of attrition.
Ambitions Beyond Earth
We have been continuously expanding our control. Beyond Earth, we have extended our reach to other planets, with elite members of our clan leading demon children and grandchildren to station themselves there. Our grand goal is to occupy the entire Milky Way and, eventually, the whole universe. This is a massive vow, and we are gradually moving toward it, step by step.
Our time on Earth has not been long, but we feel quite connected to humans. We find them very easy to control, and the results are excellent, which has greatly boosted our confidence. Many of our elites were 'cultivated' on Earth; they enhance their demonic power by controlling humans. Once they reach a certain level of strength, they are dispatched to other planets to cause chaos and establish a new stronghold for our Mo Ba tribe. We have operated this way for a long time, and it has been very successful. Other demon factions have tried to invade us, but our power is too great; they are quickly repelled, subdued, or merged into our clan as new members. With our power, we are truly, as humans say, 'fearless of heaven and earth.' No one could stop our might.
The Unprecedented Invasion
However, in recent times, we felt threatened. Our stronghold suffered a severe invasion—one unlike anything we had ever encountered. The damage was immense, causing every demon in our stronghold to become defensive. We deeply felt that this force was not to be underestimated. At first, we did not know who was attacking us, as we had never faced such a crisis. Later, we learned that the one invading us was 'Practitioner Su.' We were all shocked: how could a human enter our demon stronghold? It seemed impossible.
We had heard of Practitioner Su, but we had never met him. Perhaps the Causal Conditions had arrived, and we were destined to meet him to see whose power was greater. Practitioner Su uses his to perform Chao Du, entering many demon strongholds to save the demon crowds within. Our stronghold was so large, yet it became one of his targets. This was completely unpredicted; we had no idea such a thing could happen. It was a total disruption of our order.
The Power of Buddha-Light
Practitioner Su brought powerful Buddha-light and righteous energy. This energy is generated in accordance with universal principles. When a human can act in total alignment with these principles without any deviation, an extremely powerful force naturally emerges—a force beyond human imagination. Practitioner Su possesses this energy. When his countless billions of manifestations arrived outside our stronghold, a force immediately confronted us. Many of our demons were still inside, and when Practitioner Su arrived, they felt something was wrong. As his grew stronger, our stronghold shook violently, and many demons were shaken out.
I was still inside, planning to leave shortly to control humans and find new targets. I never expected to encounter Practitioner Su before I could leave, and I was terrified by his Buddha-power. Although his power was immense, it was gentle. Can you imagine us being drawn out of our stronghold by a gentle force? At the same time, the holy name of Namo Amituofo was resounding inside and outside the stronghold. This holy name also carried immense power, acting simultaneously. It was a sound that pierced through our very essence.
We demons saw that the situation was dire and used all our demonic power to resist, but no matter what we did, we could not withstand the Buddha-power. The Buddha-light continuously purified our stronghold, and the Buddha-power ceaselessly transformed our demonic hearts. We did not want to be changed, but no matter how hard we struggled, we could not resist. You might be puzzled: if we did not want to be changed, why were we? This is the brilliance of Buddha-power; it penetrates deep into our hearts, weakens our demonic power, and awakens the inherent Goodness within us. It is a force that cannot be fought with hatred.
Surrender and Transformation
Before we were completely transformed, I led us to find Practitioner Su's Buddha-body, thinking that if we attacked him, we could stop everything and restore our peace. Under my command, we moved as fast as we could to attack him. We targeted his entire body, looking for any opening. We believed we could defeat him quickly. With the power of the Mo Ba tribe, no force should have been our match. But we hit a bottleneck. When we arrived, we expected to defeat him, but Practitioner Su was radiating Buddha-light at us. He was chanting, 'Wisdom Light, Pure Light, Joyful Light, Liberation Light, Stable Light, Light Surpassing the Sun and Moon...' A massive beam of light shone upon our heads and bodies. It felt as if it were stripping away our demonic nature and restoring our original appearance.
In the end, we had to surrender. We were completely defeated by Practitioner Su, fully transformed by his Buddha-power, and entered the Western Land of Dharma Nature. Practitioner Su gave Mo Ba Tian the Dharma name 'Shi Ande.'
Reflections on the
After being subdued, we all sat on lotus seats in the Western Land of Dharma Nature. It felt like the calm after a great storm. Every demon's face still showed terror; our hearts were not yet fully calm, slowly recovering within the Buddha-light. We never imagined such a day would come. Given our power in the Demon Realm, it was impossible for any force to oppose us. Who knew that Practitioner Su could so easily dismantle our power and sweep away our stronghold? Now, we have nothing left. We have all been moved to the Western Land of Dharma Nature, and we can only stay here from now on.
Watching the countless billions of manifestations of Practitioner Su, we cannot help but marvel. When we saw him go to find other demon strongholds, every demon cried out in realization—so that is how he finds us. Practitioner Su moves with incredible speed, quickly locating strongholds hidden in various places. From the Land of Dharma Nature, we can see clearly that there are countless strongholds—not just on Earth, but throughout the Milky Way and the universe, densely packed and innumerable. These strongholds vary in size and appearance, and the demons within them also differ, showing they belong to different factions. As soon as Practitioner Su arrives, he radiates light upon these strongholds. The gentle yet powerful energy begins to transform the demons within. They react just as we did, not knowing what is happening until they come out to investigate and realize that things have gone wrong. Practitioner Su's Buddha-light and Buddha-power quickly transform the demons in every stronghold. They cannot resist such power and methods, which is why they are so rapidly transformed, subdued, and brought to the Western Land of Dharma Nature. Namo Amituofo."
